God we need a win. Not just to help our record just so it'll help to stem the flow of whining and negativity that's been giving me a headache over the past couple of weeks. This forum has to be manic-depressive, which would help to explain the mood-swings from brimming "We're going to the Playoffs!!!" (really?) optimism at the beginning of the season to the doom and gloom "We should have kept Hawes and Martin" (really?) pessimism of the fanbase over recent days.
The team's been making strides over the past couple of games but lets disregard that because I miss Quincy Douby and Justin Williams. Fantastic. Fan-freaking-tastic.

Our team has a stunning aversion to scoring points in the 4th quarter, which is strange because honestly, our defense holds up pretty well despite that fact. Of course, it doesn't help that noted genius Paul Westphal generally forgets about what actually was working at earlier points of the game and decides that Samuel Dalembert and Carl Landry will be the key to scoring points and keeping us in the game.
Tyreke seems to be continuing his streak of games with a stronger first half and crappy finish. This is where his foot problems have been wreaking havoc on his conditioning. In the 4th quarter, he just plain looks beaten down (and no, it's not because Kevin Martin was guarding him).
My major problem with most of the ream is the inconsistency from one night to the next. In one game someone could have twenty points on ten shots while in the next they'll manage 5 points on twenty shots with five turnovers to boot. If we ever want to win a game, we need consistency in some facet of the game from at least one person not named Carl Landry (who consistently sucks).
Actually, I would rather be in our position, rather than the Rockets since, despite appearances, we are on an upswing while they are going down. The Rockets were a team built around Yao. Now, I know that the Rockets still have a chance to scratch and kick their way into the playoffs but once there, they'd probably stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning a series. Why? You've got to have your bonafide megastar to be successful in this league. In this sense, the Rockets resemble the Kings after we traded C-Webb, a collection of good players but lacking the one guy who could hoist a team on his shoulders and carry the team to victory. (Of course, I still had doubts about Yao truly being on of these players anyways, but that's besides the point.) Post-season success is predicated upon the play of your Wades and Kobes, your Pierces and Rondos. The rest of that stuff if just gravy.
Meanwhile, here in Negativity-ville, we have two potential players with the take-over capability in DeMarcus and Reke (despite what a lot of people are saying now). If we let our stars grow and surround them with the right talent (not necessarily the best, but the right ones), we're in good shape. If you remember, a lineup of Horry/Shaq/Fox/Kobe/Fisher won a title while a line-up of Malone/Shaq/George/Kobe/Payton lost. Really in the end, its more about the team you've built around your superstars rather than the talent you've accumulated around them.
---Since all this negativity is giving me a headache, it's time to move on to
AWARD TIME
TDM: Chase "White LeBron" Budinger

JHA: Carl Landry, just because
Mikki Moore Foundation Award for Quietest Dreadlocks: Jordan Hill.
Spud Webb Award for Outstanding Shortness: Chuck "Shoot over me" Hayes
WTF Moment: Another 4th quarter meltdown.

Beno-Next time try to take it to the Bank
Reke-Passing the ball on the break isn't illegal.

Donte-Nice D. Try not to brick as much though, okay?
D-Jax- Remind coach that you can do what Landry does AND play defense.
Landry-
Not so Beastly.
Dalembert- REBOUND
Pooh- Get taller.
Omri-
The rest- Antoine Wright

Tonight we play the Warriors, a team that has struggled since starting hot out of the gate. They'll also be without Steph Curry, who sprained his ankle and decided to rest like a wuss . David Lee is also nursing one nasty elbow injury that almost called for the removal for a nice hunk of flesh.
MATCH-UPS
Reke vs Ellis: Reluctant to pass scorer versus Reke. This ought to be interesting.
DeMarcus vs Lee- One of the better big men in the game versus a guy with an arm missing.
D-Jax vs Amundson- Will the long greasy hair prevail in the matchup of garbagemen?
Donte vs Dorell Wright- Should be interesting. Wright has flourished since Miami let him go.
Beno vs Reggie Williams- Need a bounce back game from Beno tonight.
Omri vs Radmonovic- Who will go bald faster?
Pooh versus poop jokes- How many will be told tonight?
Carl Landry vs my temper- Will Landry's sucky play beat my patience once again?
Dalembert vs Not Forgetting to do what he does- Rebound, dunk, block shots. Repeat.
Jeremy Lin vs screaming fanbase- Will he do anything when he gets off the bench or will he kinda suck like usual?
However, I still have faith that we will find a way to win. Want to know why? Because I bleed purple and black. Always have. always will.
