Still way too many fouls all around for the second straight game.

The C's are back in this... Rondo was a beast and he was gutsy in that last play stealing the ball from bryant. its kind of amazing how the C's were winning despite the bad games of pierce and garnett... if both guys have good games along with the others its going to be Boston all the way.

Gutty win. Lovin' Rondo's block on Fisher and pickpocket of Kobe down the stretch...

Gonna be tough to beat LA three in a row though, even if it is in Boston.

They don't have to finish it in Boston. They just proved they have what it takes to win in LA. If the Celtics can take at least 2 of 3 in Beantown they have a good chance of winning it all in LA.

Very true, and if any team can do it, it's Boston.. I'd just much rather see them finish it off at home and not give LA a chance...

Seeing LA crushed ... priceless.

I'd love to see the C's win game 6 just to see the crowd's reaction: movie stars discretely disappearing in the 4th quarter when the game gets hopeless.

You guys will not believe how much the laker fans are blaming the refs for this loss. The refs were terrible on both sides but more so in favor of LA.

Yup, the lakers shot 41 free throws while the Cs shot 26. Players from both teams had foul trouble but in the end the lakers still had the advantage.

laker fans think its ok for Ray Allen, KG etc to get 5 fouls and be in foul trouble all game but when kobe gets 5 fouls, then it must be the refs helping the other team.

Figures...

To me it looked like the refs were more lenient on the Lakers than the Cs. I also saw 1 or 2 times Kobe should have been called for his 6th foul but the refs looked the other way. Or maybe it's just my Faker hatred... shurg

Whether they admit it or not, I'm sure the refs are "scared" to call the 6th on kobe. They know if he fouls out, the laker fans and media will say the refs took him out of the game etc.

kobe's defense does consist a style that fouls his opponent consistently. Usually they let a lot of it slide. But this is the big stage and they're playing the Celtics. So they can't let it slide as much.

That game was fun!

Nothing like chanting "DE-FENCE DE-FENCE" during a Lakers possession in the final minutes in a bar full of LA fans. Oh how they glared.

Shouting RONDOOOOO! was also enjoyable.

I don't know, man, number 5 on Kobe looked pretty ticky-tacky so I'm not sure if they were just trying to make up for it (when Big Baby slid over to take the charge on Kobe- on the replay it looked like he was still shuffling his feet while Kobe was in the air, trying to get position to take the charge- could easily have been a blocking foul and an and-one for Kobe).

There were a lot of straight-up bad calls in the game last night. Thinking of another Kobe drive where on the replays it is clear that no one touched him, not even a brush, no one within six inches, but he gets the call. At least two relatively-clean Boston blocks called back on a little bit of contact.

Also, Celtics were more of a shooting team, Lakers penetrating. No surprise on the FTs with Allen lighting it up and KG only shooting from 10+ feet. Refs were bad but fair. C's played a great game and are looking like world champs again. Time to go close it out in Boston

The officiating has been horrible in both games. I haven't really noticed any bias one way or the other. The refs obviously didn't want to call the 6th foul on Kobe, but that's fine with me. I hate that so many ticky tack fouls are being called in the first place, ruining what could/should be an epic matchup by putting the best players on the bench for extended periods of time. I found myself rolling my eyes at pretty much every foul called last night, so seeing a few no calls was refreshing. The Rondo block, the Rondo strip, the Kobe challenge on Ray Allen (which Rondo should have kept at least a half second longer), etc. All plays down the stretch that the players (read: Rondo) decided, not the refs.

Haha what's also funny is that the minute rivers put Sheldon in the game I looked over at my friends and said, "uh oh, game over time"

LA Times' Bill Plaschke's article on whether the lakers loss gm 2 due to the refs...

"it wasn't the officials who lost their bearings so consistently, they ended up making one of 10 baskets while making several horrible plays down the stretch. That would be Artest, who, during one late possession, simply dribbled around and around before finally throwing up an awful jumper."

This was apparently a surprise for the lakers... but us Kings fans and Rockets fans know all about it. :D

Lol.. what the HELL was Artest thinking during that possession.. Look at kobe.. hes probably thinking "what the **** is he doing?" He got bailed out when gasol tipped the brick to kobe and kobe hit the 3.

Everytime Artest, Odom, or Bynum gets the ball I'm
like please keep it in your hands and please don't double team. Let those guys go one on one all day for all I care.

So if that ball is off Garnett then everytime someone drives the ball in and gets stripped of the ball and it goes out of bounds then it should be reviewed. I can guarantee you that if you slowmo every time something like that happens you're gonna see it roll off the offensive players hands. Such nonsense. This series better get tied up in game 4.
