Well well, unexpected girlage.
Gotta look on the bright side.![Stick Out Tongue :p :p](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Just simply completely outclassed in this one, on both sides of the ball. Oh, and Jerry, gee having that shotblocker back there really does seem to make a difference doesn't it? Imagine that.
Boxscore
Greene ( C- ) -- almost came up with a great offensive board, wild drive +1. was working on defense, but picked up 2 quick fouls because of it. In the 2nd had a good d-board and then nice block fom behind to save a hoop. Drove into traffic, forced up the shot, did not get it, and barked at the ref and got the T. Responded well though, driving again and finsihing this time. Picked up his thrid foul a few mintues later. Was in around the hoop a lot on the d-boards, but rarely came up with the rebounds. Has the height, but not a natural rebounder. Started the third with a missed side jumper. Got out in the open court off a ball poked away by Landry and was just out of control and nearly lost it. With the disastrous third quarter collapse (the boxscore here is rather deceptive and obscures much of went on in this one), and his wild one on one play not helping, wqent to th bench and did not return.
Carla Campbell -- got this one in as a request after the last girls theme. I took it under advisement, carefully examined all the evidence, multiple times even, making sure to miss no details and look at the subject from every angle I could find, and decided yeah, that'll work. Jamaican SI model/super hottie Carla Cambell.
Landry ( C+ ) -- the numbers here look similar to what we have been getting, and if you didn't see the game and just had the box you would have ot think same ole same ole. But a much weaker overall game this time, whatever the numbers say. Missed his first jumper, then didn't touch the ball for something like 5 minutes. Up fake and under and by Aldridge for the +1 finish. Dunk off the nifty Reke spin drive and dump. No early rebounding again. Missed the spinning post move. Scored on the pass ahead from Reke on the break. Leveled Bayless in the open court on the pick to free Reke. Started the 2nd getting his first rebound on an o-board off a May miss which he dunked home. Knocked down the long jumper on the Beno kick. Called for the offensive foul backing his defender down. Got fouled with 6 seconds to go in the half while setting a screen, but split the pair and really had FT problems all night. Started the thrid with a strong take right, then finally grabbed a d-board. Missed the jumper, then scored over easily by Aldridge, and that began a remarkable run where our stubby PF was just scored over again and again by the 6'11" Aldridge as he dominated us in the quarter and carried the Blazers as they opened up the blowout. Landry was nearly stripped on the post move, then picked up an offensive foul trying again in there -- got called for several of those this game. Poked a ball away to Greene in the open court, but got beat again on defense and just smoked on that end in the 3rd. Scooped up a loose ball aftr returning in the 4th. Drew a foul in the post against Howard, but blew both FTs. Missed the facing jumper, and was hit in the face going for the offensive board and apparently lost a contact -- thought a millionaire athlete might just got for laser surgery in this day and age. Drew the double in the post, and kicked it out to Cisco for the three -- he does not do that as often as he should and is a very low assist guy, but played this one perfectly, waiting to set it up. Late jumper after the game was decided. Another offensive foul fighting for post position in the last 2 minutes. Got a final +1 continuation at the 1:00 mark of garbagetime, but then once again missed the FT as he was only 2-6 from the line this time. It was 18 and 6 again, that last number being a bit problematic, but more importantly getting all the details wrong that normally makes him more solid than the numbers, and tonight made him less. Beat on defense, missed shots at important times, picked up fouls and turnovers, missed FTs. Not at all his best.
Sara Evans -- country cutie Sara Evans. The hats may be silly, and can't say much for her politics, but country has shed its dowdy image in the last decade + (I think really since Shania shocked them by brazenly showing her navel -- horrors) and turned out a number of hotties.
Hawes ( D+ ) -- along with Jason just seems to be caught in an arrested development cycle and jsut can't seem to string togetehr any real stretch of strong games here. This time it was turnover and defensive woes again -- oh it would be so so nice to see a player turn the corner against the KIngs defense and not know, absolutely know, that he was going to be able to slash all the way to the hoop challenged in no other way than by a potential slap foul for a +1. Picked off a Miller pass in the early going, then picked up an offensive foul on the break after Reke dumped it to him in awkward position. Shuffled his feet trying to get the post move over Camby -- guess at least you could say he was going at him. But going at a guy and getting your butt kicked is only a mild improvement. Got called for a three second violatin just half a second before Beno hit him for a pass that would have been a dunk. Blocked in the post against Camby again, but Beno got the ball back to him and he laid it up. No idea why so much of the offense was running through Spencer in the first stint -- he wasn't getting much done and he was going against the Blazers best defender. Methinks this strategy came off of McMillan's board, not Westphal's. In briefly in the second and fought for one good d-board. Began the 3rd with a ad pass turnvoer. Got a dunk on the break from Reke for his other hoop, and came up with a good block. But with us threatening to go down 30 was pulled so that he awesome JT/May pairing could have their shot at it.
