How did you become a Kings fan?

Mr Loyalty - Have never switched teams

All my favorite Sports teams are the teams I Started with when I became fans of each sport

1966 - Was 12 year old growing up in Chicago, only thing to do in the summer was go to community pool or Watch the Cubs on my moms B&W tv on WGN. Ernie Banks, Ron Santo, Billy Williams, Fergie Jenkins yep those were my heroes. Best year was 1969 til those damn miracle Mets came from behind and bumped my Cubbies out of post season. Still keep an eye on the Cubs after I moved to Sacto in 1975. Every year or so make it to Cubs/giants game in SF. Went to Cubs/Giants playoffs the year Giants/Oakland series were interupted by Earthquake

1984 - Jumped on Bears bandwagon, OMG finally a winning team, after being a Cubs fan forever, and got me into the NFL big time, Became my routine every sunday to head down to the pub on Sunday to see my Bears. 1984 Playoffs beaten by those Darn Niners. Of course 1985 and Superbowl XX was my heydey! Sweetness, Jimmy Mac, The Fridge, Richard Dent. But again got me into NFL and still a Bears Fan

1993 - My Eleven yr old Daughter started Basketball at Holy Family in 5th Grade as a point guard, went on to be Varsity Starting point guard in HS at Loretto HS in her sophmore yr. She was the one to get me into Basketball started taking her to Kings Games in 1993 Mitch Richmond, L Train, OP, Spud Webb (my daughters hero since he was a undersized PG like her) Of course became a rabid fan ever since, go to 20 games a year, prob watch 50 out of 60 of the rest on tv

Dont think I could ever switch any of my teams regardless of where I live or where my team is or how they are playing each year. Each of my teams have a special place in my heart and my life for various different reasons, all my teams are part of me, part of my history, Dont think I could ever give up on any of them

It was a love at first sight:D I got this NBA live game from my brother in 1996 or 1997 and I started playing with the Kings. I don't know, I just liked our team logo. I remember Polynice and Richmond were there... Anyway, soon after that Peja and Vlade came and made me Kings fan for life. First time I come to the States, I am going to see Kings live!

i was the same way with nba 2k.... i was already a kings fan but since i lived in los angeles i didnt fet to watch many games besides the ones against the lakers or clippers. so once 2k came out i bought it and played with the kings. to this day the first team i play with is the kings. sports games are the best videogames for that very reason. if a player doesnt play the way you want them to in real life you can make them play that way in the virtual world.

bibby used to average 10 assists in all of my career modes and the bigs were always top 10 in rebounds and blocked shots. i used to force feed players to get their stats up. in nba 2k9 beno averaged 15/10, martin was 25/5/5 and thompson/hawes were both 15/10/2blks... it was fun. i havent started one in 2k10 because i havent had the time to sit play a season with real basketball on tv all of the time. damn league pass...:D

I was a kid in Ohio when my favorite player, Jerry Lucas, joined the Cincinnati Royals in 1963, so I became a Royals fan. Then I moved to Sacramento in '84 and my Royals showed up a year later. I've had a piece of a season ticket since they arrived.

I grew up in Los Angeles and was basically a Jordan fan during the 90's. I started to watch basketball and begin to follow basketball because of the 2001-2002 Kings.

Everyone and their grandma was a Laker fan, but I found nothing interesting about a team that only had Shaq and Kobe score on every possession.
Then I saw the Kings and instantly fell in love with that team. The ball movement, the passion, the camaraderie, the excitement, the bench mob, and ARCO arena.

I became a fan and will never bail on them. A team that made me fall in love with basketball. A team that made me understand that it wasn't all about making flashy dunks and 1 or 2-man games.

I never cared that from middle school and up 99.9% of the kids were Laker fans. I could care less. That made me even more passionate.

I have always been an NBA fan. Before the Kings came to Sacramento, I watched the W's on channel 36. It didn't come in very good, but even staticky it was better than no NBA. When the Kings moved to Sacramento, I adopted them as my team because I live in the Sacramento Area. Pretty simple really. I'm sure that is the way a lot of Kings fans became fans of the team. They moved to where I was so they became my team. Through the ups and downs I have followed the team through the years. I go to the games when I can. I went to games at the old Arco Barn and the New Arco Barn. I love the Kings and wouldnt know what to do during basketball season if there were no Kings. I'd be a mess

I am one of that rare breed of Kings fans who were actually born and raised in Sacramento.

Don't Make Me Use The Bat
I was raised by a family of wild circus hampsters. One day my circus hampster brother came upon a burning shrub, and the shrub said "thou shalt eat elderberry's!" And we ate eggplant instead.

I have been a Kings fan ever since.
