Kevin. Love.

I knew it! I !@^%#@ knew it! I didn't say anything about Love in the Wolves thread because I was hoping some kind of juju could be avoided. The guy grabbed 57 rebounds in the previous four games, and I was just kind of hoping he would slow down. WRONG! Freakin' ghost of Kevin McHale.

Man, I need some aspirin. Why do these kids play with my emotions? We go from that dizzying emotional high after the win over the Wizards to this debacle. Kings road record: league worst 1-11. Oh wait, and what's this? FT% 63%? Outrebounded by 10? Outscored on the break by 12? .............................................

I suppose I'm just gonna have to tell myself that this is a young team in rebuild mode, and that I should expect some inconsistency. But oh, how it wears on those who bleed purple. I wanna watch the game again, really I do. I just may. I can just pay attention to Casspi and Beno and pretend the rest of Maccabi Tel-Aviv missed the flight. Might lower my blood pressure.
......................................................................................................

I think that the Kings showed up expecting to win, just like I worried they would - but hoped they wouldn't. As a result, we were outclassed at the 4 and 5, Donte and Thomas went scoreless, and Evans only put up 10 points in a lackluster shooting effort.

Time to read the equine's epitaph (thanks VF ;)):

This horse appears tall
This horse does not like abuse
So this horse plays small
(HAIKU FTW!!)

...*SIGH*... There's not really anything else to be said.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Awards:
TDM - Corey Brewer. Within two of his career high. Yuck.
LW-VC - Pecherov. He doesn't always suck, but he certainly didn't help the Wolves in 3 minutes.
JHA - Donte Greene. He's making progress, I just wish he would get consistent.
RA&1 - Flynn. For fouling twice fast and sitting most of the first half. I need more marquee.
SAR / Methuselah - K9. I know he's not noted for his offense, but come on. (I'm giving Evans a pass because this is his first offense).

WTF moment of the game - K9 gets the start. Permanent conditional award win every single time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let's get down to business. I know this is what everyone everywhere really wants to see. Jennings vs. Evans. I get butterflies thinking about it. I feel like Clyde the Glide and MJ are about to square off. Round 1 for ROY. I have my money on Evans. I think everybody here has their money on Evans. I don't even think the rest of the game matters. Lets just suit the two up and let them go out there alone.

Am I mistaken, didn't we have these guys work out against one another before the draft? No, I think it was Flynn. Jennings just didn't impress. I think he just came off as too full of himself in spite of his poor european numbers. Then came the Rubio bashing and that sealed it for us. I was intrigued by him though, just because I thought it was pretty intelligent for someone to go get paid for playing ball abroad instead of wasting a year in college here.

Good thing is that the Bucks are on the second night of a back to back as well, having just lost to the Cavs. We should have more energy, I sure didn't see any used in that thing the Kings did last night. Can't even call it a game. Michael Redd is out, but we all know that that doesn't really matter.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Probable starters:

Kings - Bucks
Evans - Jennings: Big time match up. I wanna see fireworks.
Greene - Delfino: Greene isn't gonna have fun tonight.
Casspi - Mbah a Moute: Moute is a middling talent. Casspi wins this.
Nocioni - Ilyasova: 18pts and 7rbd in the last 5 games. Hand full for Noc.
Thompson - Bogut: Ugh, another tough mismatch. 7'0 260. 15pts., 9.5rbd.

Predictions:

Pts: Evans 25 - Jennings 20
Ast: Evans 8 - Jennings 6
Rbds: Thompson 9 - Bogut 10
Blocks: Evans 2 - Warrick 2 (yeah, I said it)

Let's show the nation who the best rookie really is Evans! Stay focused! Have fun! Beat the Bucks!

GO KINGS!

I think Hawes returns to the starting line up. JT and KT starting was a one trick pony.

I sure hope some GM decides to give the Kings a talented big man soon!

Beings that Redd is out, Jennings will be shouldering more of the load, I see nothing less than 30 in this game for him. Going to be a long night I have a feeling.

should be a fun game, cant wait to watch it... jennings had a horrible shooting night against the cavs. evans had a horrible shooting night against the twolves. i hope that both bring their a games or casspi will pass both of them for rookie of the year. not in one game obviously but he has been the most consistent so far.

Kinda doubt that will happen....

...But Casspi has been beastin it. I could see him finishing 3rd in the race, but that kind of hinges on where the oft forgotten Blake Griffin falls.

it wont but people could make the argument for him... and could end up being a ralph nader type of situation taking votes away from evans...

I'm really hoping this game will see the Kings come out with determination and pride, ready to prove last night's game was just a bad night all the way around. Last night's game just might be the impetus for the Kings to get that win on the road.

Must-win game, in my opinion.

This game is vital in terms of the Kings' confidence on the road, which hasn't been there thus far this season. I want to see us come out and play with passion, but also executing to our full potential. I'm tired of being the team that other teams circle on their home calendars as a given.

well i know tyreke is not going down easy in this one. He's not going to let jennings get the best of him.and when tyreke plays good the kings play good.

Well, he's going to look to attack the basket, which is good, but sometimes when he tries to save the day he ends up stifling he offence a bit.

Still, it feels like a Kings W tonight. Tyreke is a much better player then Jennings, and the Kings have a slight advantage at most other positions. My only concern is Bogut.

Big game as far as ROTY goes. As much as a win is more important and the team game is what matters most, the NBA is heavily relied upon individual matchups and performances.

Reke needs to outplay Jennings, whether it be with overall point total, stats, a game-winning play, pretty much anything that ESPN can swallow up. It also definitely needs to come with the victory.

Nothing is bigger than the game, but a ROTY award sure would look good for Reke as well as bring more attention to the Kings, possibly attracting players to play for the Kings oh let's say, this offseason. ;)

Am I the only one who feels a loss coming on? Not trying to be a downer, but although they've had decent performances on the road, they don't have my trust yet to finish off teams on the road and it makes me nervous when there's a close game on the road and I feel like today will be a tight one.

This isn't a ****ing soccer game! It indoors and it makes the game damn near impossible to get into. Leave it to the inbreds in Milwaukee to bring a mega kazoo to the game.

Carlos Delfino just learned the Gilbert Arenas lesson.

Seems to me that Tyreke is throwing a lot of skip passes lately. Not sure whether that's a good or a bad thing (the one to Omri at the beginning was certainly out of control, but the recent one to Beno was a good move) just an observation.
