2009 SF Giants Thread

I *REALLY REALLY* hope Sabean doesn't succumb to trading a top-tier prospect (Bumgarner, Villalona, Alderson, or anyone else) for a decent-ish bat ala Jermaine Dye or Mark Teahen.

This team AS IS is pretty good, and only getting better with Scherholtz/Ishikawa hitting their grooves and a plethora of young guns in the minors.

Not to mention the PHENOMINAL pitching staff!

I really hope Sabes doesn't muck it up by giving away the future.

This team should be AWESOME in a few years, no need to muck up for a quick rush to the playoffs.

Especially as this team is showing playoff potential without the worthless old-guy pieces.
I would not touch Bumgarner, Villalona and Buster but I think that Alderson can be tradeable.
If we keep Cain and Tim (I hope so) and add Bumgarner next season, we do not need Alderson that much. May be we can get a good OF or IF prospect for him. Do I want to keep Alderson? Yes, I do ... but may be a good young bat is a better choice for us.

The more I watch this team the more I think we shouldn't make a trade. These guys are tearing up together as a team and with Randy getting injured we might need to stick Sanchez in his rotation spot. This team is so fun to watch! Go Giants!

MLB AllStar game is a popularity contest. So lame. Every team must be represented?.. What kind of bs is that? I'm ok with it if the game doesn't mean something but it does. They need to change how players are voted in if its going to mean something.

The Panda has struck again!!!

WOW this kid is amazing. That was Barry territory right there. The fact that he isn't going to be in St. Louis is a shame to the game of baseball.

NO HITTER!! :D:D:D:D

Wow what a game and what a performance by Jonathan Sanchez!! 11 K's. Great to see his dad in attendance and it was the first time ever his dad was able to see him pitch live in the majors.

I really think this had even more significance for Sanchy after being pulled from the rotation though.

But man what a night. It was an honor to see and watch.

Congrats Jonathan.

What a play by Rowand!...

First time Sanchez' pops has seen him play here in SF... How great is that!

I'm not gonna lie, definately got a bit choked up.

Truly amazing.
