Texas was my one casualty, but I made the absolutely stupid mistake of taking them over Ohio St in the next round, so I am already hurt there too. Overall, not a bad morning. :D

Did anyone predict that Xavier would get thumped by Gonzaga?
That one ticks me off because while I chose Xavier, I almost went with Gonzaga. Of course, now I wish I had gone with my gut instead of talking myself out of it. Fortunately, I have Pitt winning the next round anyway. :p

I had Gonzaga winning that game over Xavier on the two brackets I'm playing. For some reason on my second bracket in another league I went with DePaul over SDSU. I didn't think I was that indecisive about SDSU...playing at home. Goodness knows I'm not high on DePaul.

My first round picks today could suck tho. MTSU is not making me happy right now in the least and that's not gonna bode well for the rest of my iffy picks the remainder of today.

Um..memo to Alysha Clark...if you are going to continue to drive in on DeHaan...could you PLEASE get some fouls on her...or perhaps try not driving in on her every time. Somebody take a damn shot away from her...oh, and while you are doing that..STOP TURNING THE BALL OVER...AND CLARK..STOP PICKING UP FOULS YOURSELF!!!!

Holding my own, so far. I'm only 1 game behind MBF. I wonder how long that will last. :D I have correctly picked 20 of 24. MBF has 21 correct picks.

You need me to lose Tenn before the Sweet 16 to have a shot at me. Otherwise I think we're even in picks the rest of the way.

I made a slight comeback in the other pool I'm in with this second slate of morning games. That one is a trainwreck that could turnaround if Rutgers wins tomorrow night. :)

Pat Summit will help her youth through the 1st round, but I think the youth and inexperience will be their downfall in the 2nd round. Well, I hope so if I'm to catch you. :p

p.s. I have no delusions of grandeur. I figure that there is no way to beat you at the college women's games. I just want to be close enough to convince myself that listening to you all these years is finally rubbing off on me......well, a little.:p

She shouldn't need to will them past a lower seed where they have more talent. Those kids, just as they did the night she won her 1,000th, will will themselves into the Sweet 16 instead of being the first Tenn team ever not to get there. They won't want that monniker tagged onto their class. And I'm sure that might have been written on the whiteboard the last few weeks and possibly the next two days. ;)

I was speaking purely from a competitive standpoint, I don't proclaim to have superior knowledge when it comes to filling out brackets because it is a crapshoot - as my two bracket entries would suggest.:)

Congrats to Courtney Paris on her 131st double double. She surpasses Sophia Young as the all time NCAA leader in double doubles.

Well, they had better find their will then because #12 Ball State made them look like the youngsters that the are in the 1st half.

Well, when it is your 1st trip ever to the big show, you may as well just put it all out there because you have absolutley nothing to lose. So, they did (put it all out there) and they didn't (lose).

Ball State pulls off an upset that most did not believe would ever happen. They knocked off a Pat Summitt Tennessee team in Round #1.

p.s. And they did so handily. Ball State 71 Tennessee 55.

I'm taking BSU to get to Cali...might as well go all the way on the upset wagon if you're gonna bounce Tenn lol...

Why haven't they flipped over to the Baylor game on the big channel?

Well they did.....eventually.

Baylor has their hands full too. UTSA has taken Baylor to OT. Yep, thats a 15 seed putting it to a struggling 2 seed. With their coach in the hospital, I'm wondering how much that has been affecting them.

It would REALLY behoove me to have Rutgers win tomorrow night to resuscitate the other bracket I have that took hits all day today. I could make a monumental comeback if that happens. Go Scarlet Knights!!! :)

I do too, but I can sacrifice Auburn in the KF league for the sake of my other bracket, which will be helped immensely if Rutgers gets to the Sw16.

TV Alert....
If I understood Trey Wingo correctly (which is a tough task, he's been saying some crazy and factually untrue things all weekend)....

In our television viewing area ("our" as is NorCal), Monday's games of local interest will be broadcast at 6:30pm as follows:

Stanford vs San Diego State game will air on ESPN2
Cal vs Virginia game will air on ESPN Classic

The schedule I found, so far, indicates that Cal is at 7:30 while Stanford starts at 6:30. I haven't verified the broadcast stations yet.

I'm going from what Wingo said and from the ESPN schedule on their website. Those games are scheduled to tip at the same time, which is why they are (presumably) bumping the programming on ESPN Classic to air both here in Northern Cal.

I was looking at the schedule on rivals.com by Yahoo sports. They are prone to mistakes.

They show four 4:00 games, three 6:30 games, and Cal's game at 7:30. Now, that makes a lot of sense. :p

My brackets are done. Done! Done! Done!

Well crap!!!!

I am doing much better in the men's bracket. That's a shame!

We better hope the evening games are better, otherwise, Cal and Stanford have no chance.

The 2's and 3's are dropping like flies.
