It's interesting to see two teams that have something of a defensive reputation get off to a relatively fast start. Stark contrast to last night's outdoor "classic."

I like seeing Penicheiro be offensive early, especially against this team; they, more than perhaps any other team in the league, tends to play off her, so if she can continue to make them pay on the offensive end, we'll be in good shape.

Monty'sBiggestFan, NothinButHoops, MamaBristow and I got together at Center Court to eat and watch the game. They set us up at a TV at the Bar (with sound). Not only was it fun, with good eats, nice service.....but they brought us a win. BTW - CWebb offers a 10% discount to any Monarchs MVP who shows their card. :)

Biggest Win of the Season!!!:D

It was great to see the team hang on and not give up the lead as they have in previous games. Player of the Game goes to Rebekkah Brunson (18 pts on 7 of 11 shooting, 7 rebounds), all for a player who was a "tipoff" decision. Both Harper and Kelly were great. "Boucek, it is time to start one of those rookies for Williams-Strong"

Of course the play of the night, "KA-POWELL FOR THREE!!!!!" with just over a minute remaining to save this game for Sacramento. What a win!!!!

6th, was there a gospel choir at C-Webb's tonight?

Yes/No...there was gospel singing but no choir, which finished just around somewhere in the first quarter.

Great win! Depending on the health of Williams-Strong, there may not be any choice but to add one of them to the starting line up. But I really don't think it matters who starts, they may have their minutes increase as they mature this season but it doesn't really matter who starts as far as I'm concerned. Plus, if Brunson has a set back we're down a couple of posts in the rotation and will get super tiny unless AWS can give minutes. That's all she's there to do, give minutes. The rooks will always get theirs.

The food, company, & Monarch win...put the iceing on the sweet potato pie...which was off the charts.
Might just have to go back again real soon!
Thanks for the fun today mates;)

Loved the energy & the way Sac plays as a team...Brunson & Ticha were warriors playing through the injuries. Props to the rookies who continue to impress.

To koz, Krista & Jason...the camera loves you...:) Great job!

Great game! glad to see TP burn the shock for all the disrespect they show her. I think TP is the main reason that the M's are doing better than most expect. Once she becomes a true offensive threat, her passing will only become deadlier and her more effective as a player.

Ticha has endured disrespect from fans and players of other teams alike. When some said we should trade her a couple of years back, some of us said that you just don't get rid of the best PG the women's game has ever seen. She may not score as often as some would like, but there is no better ball handler, floor general, team leader than our own TP.

Yep! Bekkah and Ticha are showing by example and the youngsters are stepping right in to do their part.

4 wins in a row. I say we go for 5. Let's just do it, Monarchs!!

Hmm, or not...

Monarchs general manager John Whisenant was pleased to have Walker back under contract. Although team doctors gave Walker clearance to play, Whisenant said he does not expect her to play this season. He noted that doctors have not cleared Walker for contact drills until late August, shortly before WNBA play resumes after the break.
