Since the ASB - Kings are on the 3 game winning streak which would make them the hottest team in the Least. Unfortunately, we are in the West and we get lost in all the Rockets and lakers hype. We are at 26-28 flirting with "so much needed" .500 record threatening to catch the Blazers for the 10th spot in the West. Kings continue their road trip where we are 1-0 on the 5 game trip with Magic, heat, Hawks and Mavs coming up in the next 6 days or so. Kings are 9-18 on the road but we have won 2 straight games. Kings and Wolves are still the only 2 teams left in the NBA that haven't won a division game but Kings have 9 more tries left and it will happen mostly because Clipps won't sweep us;).

Since we are playing the Magic - it would be appropriate to emphasize that Kings can draft well too. Hidayet Turkoglu better known as brother Hedo is having a career season averaging around 20/6/5 being the 2nd best player on a pretty good team in the Leastern conference. It took him 7 years and 3 teams to get to the point where we all expected him to be one day. He was robbed of an all star appearance but something is telling me that he won't be denied again. A very multivalent player capable of playing multiple positions who somehow never got his turn playing for the Kings. If it wasn't for Jim Jackson we might still have had him. He is a product of Kings basketball 2nd in line after Pedja. One of the few players that was liked by vast majority of Kings fans. (the other was Bobby). Can't help but root for the guy to do well and wonder what if...

So, what happens to Ron next is the pivotal question for the future of this organization. It isn't even certain that he would opt out considering that no one wants him or better said no one would risk a good part of salary cap on the ticking bomb. For some reason last night - I turned on the BSPN and S.A.S was talking about that and he was mentioning that Ron wouldn't mind 50/5 which means that even in Ron eyes he is getting cheaper by the second.I didn't listen to whole thing because I saw BW sit next to him and I wasn't having any of that. Opens possibility for sign and trade here and maybe then even Kleiza would be availible. What we need now is Ron to hold it together for the last 28 games. I still have faith in Knicks seeing him as their savior and Knicks don't have Kleiza either. Other than that Ron has been playing well for us. He would be perfect fit for the Knicks. Big stage, big money and no pressure since they will never make playoffs. He can dominate the mediocrity because he is good at it. Kings rebuilding around Ron and Kevin is the funniest thing since we were rebuilding around Pedja, Mike and Brad. Remember how much fun that was ?

Did Salmons play in the "space jam" movie ? Hey, it would explain why he sucks so bad these days. It is very irritating watching him do nothing but wasting someone else's minutes. He was playing great until the Toronto game when we got the guys back from injury. Then he had 5 game stretch scoring total of 21 points with 2 scoreless games. Then he seemed like he is recovering from it averaging about 12 pts in the next 8 games. In the last 5 games he has scored a total of 7 points with 2 scoreless games. I don't get it. Something might not be right in his head either. Now that Ron is staying and that his role is set - is he going to suck for the next 28 games because if he is - KT is feeling lonely in the dog house anyway and he can use some company. Even QD would contribute more these days.

On the much brighter note - Cisco is ON FIRE !!! It should be illegal - how well he has been playing. In this winning streak Cisco is averaging 20 pts shooting 66% field, hitting 5 threes per game at 71% in about 25 minutes of action and having only 1 turnover in those 3 games. WOW!!! I don't know what happen, whether he is thinking more or less out there and I don't care as long as he doesn't change it. Right now Cisco is like the Yugo with the stick shift stuck in highest gear. Whatever they do they should keep the sprinklers turned off and let it burn because the fireworks are awesome to watch. Salmons who ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Refs suck ! Joe Crawford is one of them. And while we benefited from the call - it still sucked. maybe it is just me. Maybe playing defense with Your chin against the flying elbows is against the rules. That whole situation sounds familiar. Where did we see that before. I just can't remember it. On guy gets the trip to the hospital and bad headache for couple of days and the other guy gets trip to the free throw line. Crawford was standing there couple feet away and he made that call. Brilliant !!! And it is totally irrelevant that Wallace's absence helped us winning that game. At least - he will be fine - should have not stick his head where it doesn't belong:rolleyes: At least Crawford didn't call GW for a flagrant foul. and finally we have a reason to put Mikki and Kobe in one sentence. You have to be kidding me - Ray Charles and Steve Wonder would have made better call. Pathetic !

Kings win in Charlotte is a rarity and it was hard work and it took us 5 minutes longer than it should have because of bunch of stupidities down the stretch. Wallace's injury also helped us a bit there. Looking at the stats - we probably should have lost the game because we turned it over too much (18). We won because we shot the 3 well and because they missed 4 more FTs than we did. And we won because we had Cisco and they didn't

AWARD TIME

TDM went to D Anderson just like in the good old days. It doesn't look impressive but it is his season high and only one more time this season he scored in double digits.
Okafor gets the LW-VC award not so much because of what he did last night but more because of what he was unable do do all night long and he was doing it in so many previous meetings.
I am going to award Salmons yet another JHA award and with every game he more and more plays like Jason Hart

WTF moment of the game - Crawford pulling Bavetta

Magic are next and they have won 3 out of the last 4 games. They will also look for payback since we did beat them at ARCO back on January 8th. In that game we jumped on the early and played awesome first half. We played without Mike, Ron and Kevin making Salmons the best player on the floor meaning that we will need plan B this time. We have to make Superman's numbers manageable and get to their shooter on time. There will be plenty opportunity for us to play small ball meaning Ron playing the PF position. No zone - please !
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - wake up kid !
Brad - take care of the ball
Ron - shut up and play
Mikki - way to get to the line
Beno - solid
Salmons - come on
Cisco -

Hawes - more PT
A.J. more bench time
Landlord - time to raise the rent

rest - mateen

Coach T - A.J. is too old to make sense playing these days.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Magic are 3rd in the Leastern Conference with 35-22. they would be 9th in the Rest but that is different story. They are only 15-11 at home and I am at this point too lazy to check their record against the West especially at home. We can expect Superman to dominate on the glass. Hedo has been playing great all year long. Their bench is not that great either. I expect Mo Evans to get the TDM. Lewis will get LW-VC - Ron will help of course. will see if Reddick can copy /paste Novak. Hope that we will be thare at the end.

Crawford wasn't even on the court when the Wallace incident occurred. And, for the record? The foul called on Wallace actually happened BEFORE Moore spun, not because of the collison between Wallace's face and Moore's elbow.

And Jim Jackson had NOTHING to do with Hedo's departure. Hedo was part of the trade that netted us Brad Miller.

Hedo was stuck behind Peja and was NEVER going to get major minutes. I always liked Hedo but trading him for Brad Miller was not a bad move, especially at that time when we were still in the hunt and Vlade desperately needed more backup. If you recall, Pollard was starting to have his recurring back problems.

The Pollard-Turkoglu-Miller trade was one of the best ones Petrie has done, IMHO.
