Consolidated Artest rumor thread

I don't know if this is of relevance, but over on EBSports, Eze has breaking news about Artest, although you have to be a subscriber to view it. Supposedly, he breaks all the trades before the media. I haven't seen it, but posters on that site (and realgm, for what it's worth) say he's reliable and broke the Kidd, Bibby, KG etc. trades hours before anyone else.

Just a tidbit, may be completely irrelevant.
Im an insider over there and he said he was told that rons by rons Legit assistant that ron is staying put after a meeting with petrie unless petrie gets a deal that knocks his socks off.

Here are the quotes from eze in bold.

Ron To be kept as a Sacramento King, so I'm told.

He had a conversation with Petrie this morning and told Petrie while he will opt out, the Kings have the best chance to resign him.

The best they could get was the Linas offer from the Nuggets, and the Nuggets really didn't want to do that.

Petrie informed Ron that he will do what is best for the organization, and if a offer comes through last minute that is too good to pass up, he will move Ron, and Ron agreed...but...Petrie told him he'd like to resign him in the offseason.

Petrie is only going to resign him if he can get him on a deal similar to Kevin Martin.

I got all this from Ron's personal assistant (like his legit one, not his dog feeding one lol), so, take it for what its worth...

From another board, and from someone who is suppoedly an insider, I get the impression that Artest will be playing tonight, and that he will still be a King come next week. :(

Of course, the key word here is "supposedly".

Let's see.

Do I trust.... Ron Artest's supposed assistant as quoted by an Internet site that makes you pay for "rumors" that tells us nothing we don't already know.

Do I trust.... Sam Amick.

Hmmm.... Choices, choices.

That's what I thought, which is why I posted above. Still, I'm not sure how legit that guy is, he claims to know everyone important under the sun. I think if GP gets a good deal, he'll move Ron.

That info. seems to back up my idea that Ron will still be a King.

Hey i usually wouldnt believe something like this but he broke soooo many other trades including the mike miller to the cavs rumor that will be coming soon BTW so i trust him. He is a member here as well.

Alright, time to get things back on track here, we have a bad joke and a quote from some personal assistant...basically this means we know nothing more now than we did this morning.

Re-sign Ron? Seriously if Petrie plans on keeping Ron around to monopolize the ball at 11 million a year thereby eliminating a big chunk of our future salary cap space then he's off his rocker.

The only information that is new is that San Antonio has stepped in and may include MULTIPLE draft picks and Denver may be more willing to include Kleiza. This is what Petrie has been holding out for, if Denver includes him then the deal will be made.

He broke a rumor that hasn't happened yet and was reported by ESPN Insider?

Look, I like Eze, but this is ridiculous.

The Rebuild is under way!!!

We Have a 2006 1st Round (Sheldon Williams)
Two First Round 2008 Picks (ours and San Antonios)
Two Second Round 2008 picks (ours and Atlantaa)
1st and Second round 2009
Two First Round 2010 (ours and San Antonios)
Second Round 2010

Plus Miller,SAR.KT all expire 2010
Fall 2010 Could be very exciting bunch of young
guys with Martin, Hawes, Salmons, as only contracts
left (hopefully resign Garcia and maybe Beno)
Dude, the trade hasn't even happened. Either this is a bad attempt at another hoax, or you haven't read any posts after moosehogs. That deal wasn't real.

Yah the Mike Miller rumor has been up for a couple days now. It was reported by the Griz owner that they wanted to cut all large contracts in an attempt to rebuild. the first rumor was Miller to Denver, and now he's to the Cavs. But it was reported that the owner of the Griz wanted to cut all large contracts.

yah huh....Artest tells Petrie that he will resign and the our great Petrie believes him after Artest has changed his mind the past oh...year or so

I am all for resigning Artest, only thing is, I will be pissed off if Artest and his agent were lying and sign elsewhere.
12.5M/year for Artest is a good deal, add a couple team options towards the last 2 years of a 4 year deal and i'd be all for it!

Latest from Sam Amick:

Artest staying...for now

(2:49 p.m.)
Someone within the Spurs organization is steering folks astray, as it now seems as if that situation may not exist. It never made sense as it was, and wasn't anything close to a deal the Kings would consider. All is quiet at the moment, and my Denver source says if the Nuggets had relented on Linas Kleiza then the deal would be done.

Why? It stops us from rebuilding. We're not good with him now, we won't be any better in 4 years.

I hope something gets done.

Hope Artest is staying, and everything points to that. Im fine with him. Im hoping for a smaller trade of one or two of the new guys for picks. SA and LA would be the last teams I would do business with. Giving away Artest to teams who couldn't give a hoot about Sac can look elsewhere. When we were one guy short from upping the Lakers back in our heyday, nobody "helped" us except for Indy to some extent.

I said a few days ago that I thought it would be really stupid to obstinately hold out for Kleiza and end up with nothing, and I still feel that way.
