All-Star weekend observations

Ray Allen is money; he's always been money. I think he deserved the MVP tonight. He was the shot in the arm the East needed to pull it out.

Actually it's Kobe's call. He could have stayed home and let someone else take the spot but noooooooooo. Couldn't miss the opportunity to bask in the adulation of his myriad of fans.

Blaming Byron Scott for this is like blaming Jason Kidd for the trade not going down.

;)
Sorry VF, you're wrong. According to ESPN, Kobe wanted to miss the game but because he played in the last game he had to at least show up or he would be suspended from the first game after the break. Now if he wasn't going to play in the next game anyway he could have skipped today but he's planning on suiting up for the next game, so he had to play today. It is a rule to ensure that players don't skip the game.

Ac is right:

Not just for the adulation of the All-Star game alone, really so he can get the glory of having to have played the rest of the season, playoffs and Olympics hurt. His idea is to only have surgery on his pinkie after that. I understand the whole "I'm gonna help my team as best as I can while injured" angle but what if surgery's unavoidable if it gets messed up further

But I do agree, the West uniforms did remind me of the Kings gold jerseys, and the East looked like a darker blue of the Kings retro baby blue jerseys before the gold ones.

The actual all-star game kinda sucked this year. Oh well.

I liked Rash-weed shooting from beyond the arc with his left hand.

Im glad Nash made an idiot out of Craig Seger by using his ugly hankie. Its no wonder so many players hate this guy, for example he was basically asking Dirk to get fined for commenting on the Kidd trade.
