Just one...

Who the bleep is Ronan O'Gara?

Giggle.

He is American born and is one of the best athletes in a sport I enjoy FAR more than golf.

I'll bet the only person on this forum who knows who he is did NOT know where he was born. Let the day pass and there will be a response to this.

He's almost as good as Danny Carter and this year, so far, is having a better year than Danny.

Glenn, wasn't he born in San Diego? :D
Yes. I find that interesting as I suspect his parents are Irish citizens. He attended Irish schools. I can't find much more info 'cause I wonder if he has dual citizenship. Maybe Ireland doesn't allow it.

The American team could use him. :)

I just flipped on Setanta and who's face should appear but Brian O'Driscoll, future NFL running back. :) Next picture was O'Gara. It's a 6 Nations match against Italy which maybe is a replay. It also may get very one sided. I'm not sure as rugby is on TV 12 months a year whether it is the icky 7 man version, the moderately icky League or the he-man Union. There' a a little Gaelic football later tonight.

Keep me up on basketball 'cause I don't want to miss it.

Is Kaman of the Clippers Irish?

For those who never watch Rugby, watch a few games as there is an obvious relationship to American football except a few quirks that will take adjustment like "why in hell do they kick all the time?". Try American football with the smallest of pads with everyone playing both ways. Not easy.

Yes, it was a replay. The game was on yesterday. Both teams played very badly but Ireland won basically 'cause they played less bad. :D

The basketball is over, it was only on Setanta Ireland which is only available in Ireland. Sorry about that, I didn't realise it was only on over here when I told you about it.

What gave you this idea? Maybe he has Irish relations somewhere along the line, but AFAIK he's not Irish. I could be wrong. Jamal Crawford could play for the Irish National Team if he wanted to (but why would he :() as he has Irish in him somewhere.

Just Kayman's red hair. I didn't mean he was from Ireland. Almost everyone in the US has a heritage outside of the US. I consider myself Norwegian, the people who destroyed Ireland around 1000 AD. :)

Oh, I see. I thought you knew something about him I didn't!

Ah yes, damn you Vikings! :D

Still, alot of good things came out of it.

I watched a show about the Vikings and their invasion of Ireland and Scotland. They scared the English so much that they got ransom or extortion - whatever the word is. As of the 21st Centurey, there are more antique English coins dated around 1000 AD in Norway than in England.

I looked up where you live. Kinda on the outskirts of Ireland, I must say. It must be very relaxing or to a teenager, maybe very boring.

While I have Irish heritage, I was morn in the U.S., as was my mother. My maternal grandmother was also born here, but her parents, and her older sister, were born in Ireland.

Yeah, it's kinda on the coast, but not quite. I don't find it boring at all, the only thing I find difficult is that basketball is not a big sport here. That's why I want to go to America.

That sounds about right, although probably a little before when the majority of Irish started to emigrate to the US because of the famine. Most (or alot) of Americans have Irish ancestory.
