Well, regardless of what name he goes by, he is now tied at 4th on the all-time winning list, with 62 titles ... with the difference being it's only taken him 11 years. His accomplishments have totally redefined the game of golf.

Nice job, Mr. Woods!!!

I'm just a little disappointed. I really thought at least one other person would be as excited as I am to see Mr. Woods' domination of the game of golf continue.

I don't see why one person being so dominant is exciting. I'd be more interested if he had a legitimate rival. I haven't watched golf on tv in years now. Plus I think a lot of people dislike Tiger for various reasons. The one golf event I attended (Masters 2001) many of the golfers were accessible to fans but Tiger kept his distance and I think he's become even more reclusive over the years and that turns people off, let alone more nefarious reasons.

Oh, and just for the record, you arent the only one who's excited about Tiger. I've been a fan of his since I saw him win his first amatuer title. I knew he was something special and would change the face of golf as we knew it.:) He plays the game with a knowledge, skill, and passion that I dont think we've ever seen in the sport in it's history.

I don't think I would even be interested in golf if not for Woods. I'd certainly never have watched a single round of any tournament if not for him. He's meant a lot for the game of golf over the past decade or so, more than any other one person in the history of the game. Maybe more so than any other sports figure, period.

I'm not disputing that, but I found it a lot more interesting when he was emerging (the first Masters run was amazing and inspiring) or in the years that someone gave him a challenge. I doubt I will watch any golf this year unless he takes the first 3 majors and goes for all 4 in one season.

Every once in a while, someone comes along who completely, utterly transcends the competition in their endeavor. Woods, Gretzky, Jordan... Setting the bar so very much higher than anyone even imagined possible.

What we are witnessing with Woods is such an unprecedented achievement in the making.

And it is fun to witness for sure! :)

I know three people who have met Tiger at tournaments. Aside from having to deal with massive throngs of people, all three of them had the same things to say about the encounters: He was gracious, he was genuine and they were very glad to meet him. If he's "more reclusive," which I don't think is even true, it might well be because he has paparazzi following him constantly and now, as a husband and dad, he also has his family's well-being to think of.

As far as "a lot of people" disliking Tiger, I certainly would like to see some proof of that allegation.

I admit I have limited experience only having been to one event, but the majority of the people I was surrounded by that week were rooting against Tiger, their excuse was that he was too good. A lot of people like rooting for the underdog, happens in every sport.

And was there by any chance a hometown favorite in the group? :p

Rooting against someone is NOT the same as disliking them, IMHO. And remember, there are people who actually voted for Sanjaya, too.

It was the Masters. Duvall made a last day challenge that year. I don't think he is a hometown guy, but they were rooting for Ells and DLIII the days before :) I also think that was the year DiMarco lead for 2 days.

The only reason I would ever watch golf is to watch Tiger. Thank you, Tiger.
Amazingly enough, Tiger came back in the last round from 4 strokes back, in Dubai, to win the second straight tournament of the year. He's won the first two big outings of the pro tour this year against the big guns. For all we know he is going to shatter every legendary bit of history the game ever held.

He's just what many have said. A phenomenon lighting up the world of Golf in our era. Enjoy. Hats off to you Tiger. Being one who has played the game my whole life i just gotta pay my respect. It's no easy game to master let alone dominate in this day and age. Stay tuned...

What an incredible comeback in Dubai! I hope everyone realizes that they are watching the greatest golfer probably to ever walk the face of this Earth. Tiger should change his middle name to 'Greatness'. When it's all said and done, I could see Tiger winning well over 100 tournaments and over 20 majors...incredible, just incredible.

Tiger keeps rolling again - off to a phenomenal start this new golf season. Struggled in his first match in the current Match Play tourney and now into the Final against Cink which one has to see as another win for Tiger. The guy is unbelievable.

And Woods is still young by golfing standards. Watching him is literally watching history - and knowing you're watching it.

8 and 7. Cink is done. Woods is sick. If he's ever gonna win grand slam (in one year) this is the year. He is locked in.

And the next year and the next year etc. What I dont' often hear is how this all makes perfect sense if you look at his personal history. Look at this guy's life. He was awesome in 2000. At the top. Setting records. But then he totally renovates his swing because he thinks he can be better, so of course, his game temporarily dips. Then his father dies. This is not just any father-son relationship. It's Earl and Tiger Woods. That was rough. Then he falls in love, get's married, and has a baby. Now he's got his new swing, settling into his new life, has grieved somewhat the loss of his father, and he's about to nuts on the world golf scene. Plus he's through his Saturn return now. The next 15 years is going to be all Tiger, let's hope he stays healthy and safe. And I think he will actually continue to improve for probably the next 9 or ten of those years, and then I think he'll maintain for 5 or 6, and then he may retire at about 47, and become something even bigger, maybe some kind of new world leader. How can you not at least think that that is not at least possible?

People say "oh yeah I think he'll beat Snead's record for total tour victories" Are you on drugs? This guy is going to ANNIHILATE it. I honestly would not be surprised if he finishes with more than 200 total victories. And the crazy part is that there is a part of me that thinks I'm being conservative. 250? Yeah, I do think that's possible. I think Tiger will be the most dominant athelete that has ever played any sport ever. People are already having this debate. AND HE IS ONLY JUST ENTERING THE PRIME AGE FOR GOLFERS! We are lucky to be living in the time of such greatness. Best of all in my opinion: I hear he's a great human being.
