I thought the NFL instituted some sort of cockamamie rule that you have to call it the "Big Game," or that only they could say "Super Bowl," or something equally ludicrous.

I *think* the Patriots will win. Probably a close game.

I'd like the Patriots to win only for the reason that it would be nice to see history made.

Other than that, I really don't care. I'd acually kinda like the Giants to play spoiler as well, so....

I'm for "don't care," as I don't like either team and don't plan to watch it. Parties aside, I don't understand the overwhelming need to watch the game when you have no one to root for. The people I know can't seem to grasp that for whatever reason. The season is over for me. If I want to watch the good commercials, they'll all be on Youtube the next day.

There's a ski resort up in the hills behind me that will probably be near-empty. I plan to take advantage of that.

Patriots will win by at least 10 points. I'm guessing NE 34 - NY 24.
I'm rooting for the Pat, however, I'm also rooting for my numbers from a superbowl pool. I have 4 (Pats) and 0 (Giants). Maybe the score might be 34-20. That would be awesome!!!!!

Seriously, I'm rooting for the Pats whether I win or not.

The "big game" is so ridiculously over-hyped for two weeks, that I get so I just wish it was over. It should only be a week between the games. To me it's not even about football. Its a big, celebrity-viewing bash. I absolutely gagged when I found out Ryan Seacreast will be hosting a "red-carpet" show. Red carpet? At a football game? Makes me ill. Have I missed this before (I hope so)? And the over-blown half-time show? Just have a regular half-time, please. I have no rooting stake, but I'd enjoy the game more if it really was just about football.

In general, I agree.

The Super Bowl in on my FIL's birthday this year. We usually watch it at their house anyways (like to watch the big game and commercials), but this year it will be a combo party.

Cool commercials, great!

The rest of it, not so much.

As much as I wish they would just play it and get it over with, I like the week off so that both teams can be as close to 100% as possible. But I don't think I've ever been this anxious for the Super Bowl in either of the previous 10 or 11 times the Broncos or Pats have been in it while I've been paying attention. From a fan's stand point the perfect season has been both a blessing and a curse.

I'll be working, but I think the Giants have the best shot at stopping the Pats of any other team. It will take an error free game from Eli Manning, and an incredible pass rush from the Giants to shut down Brady. I expect the Pats to try to run, but it won't work. Giants 31 Patriots 21:cool:

If the Giants focus on the pass rush, wouldn't the Pats be able to run at will? The Pats sat their entire right side of the line plus their blocking tight end in the first matchup and the Giants only managed 1 sack.

I'm reasonably willing to hear any good reason why this will be a good game but its got to revolve around the Giants offense out powering New England's because the Giants couldn't hold a vanilla Pats offense focused on Brady to Moss to under 38 points in New York a month ago. Now they're going to hold them to their second lowest output of the season under ideal weather conditions? I don't think so.

I think that's the key. If the Giants can get pressure on Brady, they have a chance. Let him sit back in the pocket all day and he'll tear you apart eventually.

I see the Pats winning 46-21...with the Giants scoring first to kind of wake up the Pats, so to speak. I see them scoring like 6 straight times or something like that.

edit: I'll be pulling for the Giants though because I have 3 Giants players left on my fantasy team and am down by only 35 pts.:D

It's my DIL's birthday and the due date of my grandbaby. We might have to miss the game. ;)

I didn't get power back until the beginning of the 4th quarter... just in time to see some great football.

Congratulations to the NY Giants!!!

So happy!! I didn't care who won as long as it was not Patriots :)

Ever since Red Sox won second WS I can't make my self cheer for New England sports.

I'm hoping same thing happens to Celtics at NBA finals this year (as long as it is not Lakers )
