No Expectations of Playoffs Next Year, Good Thing?

I think you need to get it straight. RIGHT NOW our team includes Bibby and Artest. I personally think you're reading WAY too much into a comment about Theus working with them. Of course they're going to say he'll work with them because they're part of the team at this point in time.

I have yet to see ANY owner or GM make a comment about future players when they don't know who they are, or even if they have an idea but haven't finalized a deal.
It's funny, I don't hear that I'm reading too much into their statement on "rebuilding", but I do hear a lot about reading too much into their statement on Theus coaching Artest and Bibby. I don't give one more credence than the other. Yet, the response is that I should give credence to the rebuilding comment, not to the comment on Theus being the right guy to coach Artest and Bibby. Interesting.

With respect to your reference to "future players": STRAWMAN.

I respectfully disagree.

Owners and front office people don't make comments like "Well, we know we won't have Bibby so we don't expect Theus to have to interact with him." They make statements exactly like what Joe and Gavin have said. Hence my comment about the future.

I addition to what VF said. Yeah we may be shopping 1 or both of them. What you don't do is act as if they are already gone then something go wrong and they are still here well you have let them know you don't want them so they play like 2 unwanted players.

Which is EXACTLY why many of us have cried out to trade for expiring contracts on old vets, play the kids and then vola... You have cap space AND you in all likelyhood will suck enough to nap a top pick. The history is clear. Portlad did it right, a few years back Kiki did it right in Denver and Cleveland is reaping big from doing it right. The Cavs may not have a Championship THIS season but they got close and are positioned well to make a STRONG run again next year.
....and for many years to come.

The Maloofs were part of the Sacto resurgence...and they have been part of its demise. Frankly we'd be better off we new ones, but these are the ones we've got.

And the Maloofs have nobody to blame but themselves for being dumped on. They are idiots. Just because they are OUR idiots, does not in any way make them less idiotic. If they were the Lakers owners we'd be rolling on the floor. Hell, there are Lakers fans who have more respect for what we were than our own owners.
Wow! Brick, are you having a rough day? I rarely disagree with your perspective or assessments but I find have to disagree with you on this. The Maloofs are certainly quirky, perhaps eccentric, and yes a little arrogant but overall I can't think of who I would trade them for. I hope they learn to keep their fingers out of the bowl and let the real basketball people do their thing but I would hardly call them idiots.

yea i think its a good thing(to the topic at hand)....We lost the spark imo...players arent playing like their hungry anymore....i liked it better when we were the under dogs. When we were respected in the league.....

Now players with their big contracts are overly extatic and dnt wanna play hard ball anymore. They feel as if "they've reached". Personally i think we should just go all out in a youth movement i.e Kev cisco salmons Justin douby price.

And why on Earth not? The traits you have just listed are everything you do NOT want in an owner. A dessicated corpse with no interest in the team at all would be 1000% times better than meddling morons who can't keep their fingers out of things. Since they don't spend anymore money than any other owner anymore, why the hell do you want the rich bumpkins blundering about messing with your franchise? Any John Doe owner who did nothing but open his checkbook and stay out of the way would be better.

The Maloofs gave the team, and quite likely Geoff, the kick it needed in the first 5 years. But since that time they have posioned their own waters. Closed the checkbooks, meddled with personal matters over their GMs head, and been a PRIMARY source of the ugly poisoning of the fanbase and Kings kingdom against their won heroes. You want the source of the ick, the scapegoating, the alienation against everything that was once good about the Kings? Go no further than the fools in charge, the spoiled children born with a silver spoon who's reaction to failure was to throw a tantrum and go look for people to blame. And that gives the hatchet jobbers like Grant license. The oh so subtle "leaks" set the Ailene Poisons to poisoning. The Maloofs stand at the heart of the ick. There is class, and they aren't it. And that makes the losing all the rougher because you have no organization you can be proud of in the abstract when the product on the floor is not up to par.

Wow. So did they run over your dog before or after they set fire to your house?

Sorry, but IMHO that's just way over the line. Just my opinion, of course, but the Maloofs are nowhere near as bad as you're painting them.

Holy crap!!! I know I've been MIA for a while, but I had no idea the Kings were DEAD! Here I thought we were suffering through a cyclical and normal NBA type rebuilding.
