We used to sit here after lost chances and do the same thing (saying that a close loss when we didn't play ou best game meant we were the better team) and it got us nowhere. Warrior fans might feel good about their chances after toight- but they can't win the series without winning in Utah, and they BLEW a great chance tonight...
Agreed. But GSW threw away a golden opportunity in Game 5 of the first round to close out the Mavs, then came back in Game 6 and blew the Mavs out of the gym (at least in the 2nd half).

Granted, that Game 6 was in Oakland, but at least GSW fans have some precedent to hang their hats on now when it comes to rebounding after a tough loss in the playoffs.

They will certainly need to control the glass, or at least battle to a virtual tie, in order to take Game 2 from the Jazz. I don't imagine Boozer will play as poorly as he did tonight in the next game.

The Jazz beat the Warriors playing the Warriors style of basketball which surprised me. This doesn't look good for the W's and unless they can start rebounding the basketball they won't win a game. Golden State is pretty much a jump shooting team and if the shots don't fall they really don't have any other option.

I will be watching this series with interest, but I do not really care who wins. I just want to watch some good basketball. I also have no predictions.

How many people in the world picked either the Jazz or the Warriors before the season started to be in the Western Conference Finals?

I don't think Golden State's confidence was shattered after such a close opening loss in Utah. I'm sure Nellie is telling everyone he's REALLY worried but actually thinks he's got the Jazz right where he wants them. The W's led most of the game (albiet by just a couple points) and dictated tempo to the Jazz - a huge surprise! If they can get the game on Wednesday then return to Oracle Insane Arena anything is possible including "doing a Dallas" to Utah and jumping up 3-1 - of course a BIG IF at this point since they need to just get one and build on it. Harrington finally showed up which has to boost their confidence. I took the Jazz at the start of this series, but these W's won't be extinguished without a knock-down street ball fight keeping Utah back on their heels and frustrated by an inability to easily impose Sloan's methodical half-court execution.

I'll tell you what, though. If the Jazz keep turning the ball over and if Deron Williams leads them in FG attempts every game, they'll make this series a lot harder than it has to be.

Boozer needs to earn that "Uncle Tom" contract he signed (no offense to anyone), and Williams needs to take care of the ball.

This is def the most exciting series by far , they play like playground style that brings your average fans to watch the series. As opposed to the spurs/pistons possible nba finals which would put a lot of fans to sleep . I wish this will be a 7 game series that can produce games like last night . I hope that will be a suns/warriors WCF , so that we can have finals like 120-118 each game .

Go Warriors ! Go Suns ! Go Bulls ! Go Nets

You may write whatever you like about the media silliness and the warriors bandwagon but i'm telling it straight to you GO WARRIORS
they have made me so excited to see games
i would have paid 500$ to be at game 6 in Oakland (i said it before the game)
What a great and fun series it has been to watch

Stephen Jackson showing he indeed plays with his head more than you'd think ( offensively, besides Baron, he was the one looking to pass the ball at every mismatch, posting up smaller players, taking Dirk to the rim...)
And his defense on Dirk has been great
(I know Kirilenko's defense will prove me wrong but don't forget what he did to the mavs)

Richardson is great on defense, hits big shots

Baron Davis has been HUGE he's the mvp of the post season thus far
In game 6 he's hurt, he goes to the locker room, then comes back down the strech : he makes a turnover, Jason Terry is killing him, his shot is not falling ... then ... oh my god ! Gotta see it !

Game 1 against Utah Davis looked tired, he wasn't the same i saw against Dallas but i hope he will be OK for the rest of the series

Go Warriors for the love of the game, crazy game, exciting game !
GOTTA FEEL IT ! :)

Game 2

First quarter in the books, and GSW has a 3 point lead after Deron Williams picked up 2 early fouls. Pace of the game favors GSW, but they still aren't playing terribly well. And I have no idea what has happened to Monte Ellis since the first game of the Mavericks series --- he has played like a true second year player, and not the MIP of 2007.

What I love about this game is the way that Utah has absolutely no regard for Golden State's interior defense... If Dallas had played like this, they wouldn't be fishing right now.

....actually, now I am wondering - if the Warriors stay in the playoffs, does that mean more crowd shots with Jessica Alba? This could seriously change who I am rooting for...

Hell yea, that, unlike those repetitive Eva Longoria shots, is worth looking at. Go Warriors - get Jessica Alba more face time and go Suns so we can end the terror that is Eva Longoria.

You guys must be under thirty...
Come on now, You don't need to be young to appreciate.

Plus all I'm saying is that if ABC is going to put on their usual celebrity female side show, at least pick a good one. God forbid they could try focusing on basketball. Instead they put on their stupid pussycat dolls intro and pan every 15 seconds to some celebrity and then repeatedly mention it.

So if they're going to waste time doing that, do it right.

I am watching the game but cannot hear it; what is the deal with Derek Fisher?
From a Laker board:

i had class and missed the game. but checking the box score...looks like GS was completely demolished on the glass! i'm surprised it went into overtime.

I have never been a Derek Fisher fan, but this is simply awful. :( Prayers and best wishes to the Fisher family.

I am so happy. I HATE the Warriors partially because of all the hype there getting and how they say there fans are "the best in the NBA" I am a huge Jazz fan this series. Big clutch shot by Fisher, but of course we are used to that from him. Utah held serve at home and you know what they say a playoff series does not start until the home team loses.

I HATE the Jazz and their fans since Malone/Stockton era....also I can’t stand Sloan's grab/hold basketball and I don't like butcher players like Harpring…..However, I’m not the Warriors fan but in this series I root for them because of baron and mat….god forbid spurs-jazz WCF….that would be painfully boring series ......

SAD! i hope derek fisher's daughter is alright!

what a finish that was tonight!!!! go jazz! i want to see spurs/jazz in the WCF. what a battle that would be! i'm over GS now that they beat dallas. i liked them then, now i'm back to not liking them.

carlos boozer is playing great so far. kirilenko is something else. 13 blocks in 2 games. did brad even have 13 blocks all season ;)

that being said, GS could easily be up 2-0 instead of down 0-2. those were both extremly tight games that could have gone either way.

a) Matt Harpring can play on my team anytime -- he's going to leave blood and sweat out on the floor every night, his or yours.

b) it was amazing all game long how the Warriors could even be in it given the absolute thrashing on the glass, them shooting nearly 10% worse form the field, actually scoring fewer points at the line... They were getting all sill from three point land again, but even so were only +8 there over the Jazz. So guess it must have been the TOs. Still, I was scratching my head during the game, even moreso after seeing the final box. -28 on the glass??? They almost gave up a 20 20 night...to Mehmet Okur. Hope Dirk is taking notes.

I can't sit here and let you talk about a fellow Jacket like that; you and me are going to have to step out back...
