I would love to have RA back, but agree that it's extremely improbable.
To try to look at the bright side, RA would have kept our record too good for the killer lottery of this summer, and the very good one of next year. Muss is the perfect guy for tanking us this year. We have become a fully dysfunctional family.
Another thing about losing RA which can be viewed positively is that it was a learning experience for us. Many of us whined up a storm about his defence (which was probably blaming the wrong party), and his running half of the players into the ground while not developing youngsters or using the rest of the team (which may have had some merit). And there were definitely times when he should have called a time out but didn't. Nobody's perfect.
But we, and the Maloofs, had no experience at the whole winning thing, so all we could see was how close we got without quite making it the last yard. And we wanted change. We were kind of like someone who gets married really young, finds that things aren't up to fairytale standards, then dumps their spouse for someone new, who turns out to be a lot worse. We didn't know what we had until it was gone, we were too naive. I hope that we can move on from that as wiser fans -- and wiser owners.
While I don't expect him to come back, I am really grateful for the fantastic years he gave us. And I am also grateful for his showing us what morons we can be at times.
