Heard a rumor from a good source that Loren Woods signed a one year deal with the Kings for above the minimum.

any other rumors you heard about the kings?

its done. Expect an annoucement this weekend.

In other news, Kevin Martin will develop into an NBA allstar this season. That rumor is still uncomfired, though.

It seems most people on the Raptors board appreciate his game. Has the potential to be rebounding/shot blocking back up center. He'll be useful off the bench as will Amundson. Pot and Hart look like two absolutely useless players.

Draftexpress rumors? I want more confirmation...
As you can see at the bottom, it wasn't a rumor anymore later on.

Justin Williams still has his oppurtunity as well. He can be the third PF or third C or a third combo PF/C.

Hmm, Thanks this seems like a odd acquisition. i hope this is not the best we can do this guy seems to be a scrub.

Hey Joker...

You were wanting action and a move, you got it, chap. Think of him as a scrub if you want. I think he could be something decent on the Kings.

This should result in more moves.

I was expecting more then Loren Woods i went to the Raptors board to see any scouting reports on him and they think hes a scrub in a BIG WAY.

if this doesn't result in more moves then Geoff should be ashamed.

Disagree on Woods. He'll likely be in a different situation than in Toronto. The Toronto Raptors of 2005-06 and the Sacramento Kings of 2006-2007 are obviously different situations.

It should. Regardless of this signing, there's still all this month and next month left in the off-season. No one can deny that because of things like the calendar-system and opening for training camp in October. :p

Hard to imagine someone 28 years old is going to improve much over what he's already shown, which is.....not much. *sigh* I really hope GP is working on some kind of a trade that could make a real difference.

Because he hasn't gotten regular minutes anywhere. With the Kings he would get that. He also hasn't had guys like Artest and Musselman on his teams.

Yes i agree, GP better have something up his sleeve Loren Woods? Loren Woods? i don't even know him and hes not even listed on NBA.com.

I think there is still an 'if' to be said about the Kings acquiring Woods. A post on the RealGM forum is suspect.

If it does happen, I'd be willing to bet that the Kings are done for the offseason outside of an overwhelming offer for Bonzi. And an overwhelming deal for Bonzi looks unlikely.

Usually I would agree, but Woods' underachieving or low productivity has more to do with his attitude and the situation he's been in than his skill level. Hopefully his attitude will improve in Sac and if that does than I would expect to be quite satisfied with him as our backup center.

I trust Givony on this one.

I highly disagree the Kings are done with moves with all this month and September left for the off-season. I'd rather go with the favor of time here.

I agree, if we get Woods then we are done with our off-season and then i will make sure Geoff never hears the end of me hes been a disappointment signing Salmons letting Bonzi walk probably and then getting Woods this off-season has been awful nothing has been exciting.

I'm sure any GM in this league could care-less how frustrated a fan is this includes any sport.

i have a reason to get upset

Signing Salmons, letting Bonzi walk signing Woods? whats there to get excited about? if the Maloofs are so motivated to get a new arena then they should atleast make it worth it by giving something back to us.

If this Woods thing happens then the Kings will have, by my quick count, a total of 17 contracts going into training camp with at least 12 guaranteed. And there going to be bumping against the luxury tax threshold. I'm not saying there is absolutely no chance of anything happening, rather I'd be surprised if something did happen.

Chill man, it's August 11th. We have alot of expiring contracts that people will want.......we are not done yet in regards to trades....signing people and adding salary we probably are but not trades.

I gave you information on him, from what I know, and from two links. For more, you'll have to wait for the Bee to put stuff out on him, and of course when he's in action. You can take the Toronto-board-stuff into thought if you want, but I'm not going to ignore that Woods is with a new team now, and has a couple energetic and competitive guys around him in Musselman and Artest.

He's just going to be a back-up big man who's on a one-year deal. Could be something that'll help us, or will be average and forgotten about.

Damn man, you really need to get a sense of time, and maybe have an open mind about Salmons and Woods being on a new team :p. If not, hey, it was just a suggestion.

If you're thinking we are definitely done this off-season on August 11th, what's the point of you even discussing the off-season anymore? ;)

Bonzi made a decision to walk. He was made a fair offer and rejected it. There have been moves made by this organization that have questioned and disagreed with, but not the Bonzi issue. That was HIS decision.

Anyway. . ., I would like to think that Petrie is not done yet, but you never know. Since I do not know much about Salmons and Woods, I will reserve judgement until I see them in action in a King's uniform.

I do not think that I will be able to judge this off season's productivity until AFTER the season is underway.

Career High In Rebounds Per Game : 4.9....

Sweet! That means he rebounds better than Brad did in the playoffs... Score!
That's nice in 15.8 MPG for 45 games. As is the 0.87 BPG that season.

Brad was garbage in the playoffs.

Gotta tend to agree there...
