I don't think there will be a s&t. I think we are losing Bonzi outright.
That would suck. Not too mention, I'd be mad at Bonzi for acting like he wanted to stay and then taking less to go elsewhere. Who could still offer him more? Indiana with their trade exception?

I hate to agree with you, but i think i do :(. Looking at the chain of events over the past couple years, the track record (besides Artest) isn't promising. All in all though, i have to trust Petrie

There is NO way Bonzi would walk and sign a deal that is less than what the Kings are offering now. Why would he possibly do that? If he wants as much money as he can get, he will sign with the Kings, or be involved in a S&T. I've been hearing the Kings are offering the most out of any offer, so why would he go for less?

Maybe he is insulted at being offered a pay cut after his early season and post-season contribution last year... so insulted that "money isn't everything".

If Bonzi is walking, and that's a big if, Charlotte would be a possible place -- they have tons of cap space. They're the only team that could pay Bonzi more than the Kings.

If he's that insulted, then money was more than "nothing" and he'd take the $36 million.

Probably a S&T for that reason....

Hopefully we'll know something soon.

I have a hard time seeing them throw a ton of money someone who will be 30 this year. Not saying it won't happen, but I just don't see that falling in line with what they are trying to do there.

I don't either, which is why I think this is probably a S&T situation. If Bonzi's gone, and a team had signed him outright, I think we'd know by now.

Thanks nbrans for reminding who still had cap space to make a bigger offer. If its a S&T, maybe it took so long, because the Kings weren't willing to take junk in return and wanted to be presented with something worthwhile. At least we can hope so. ;)

I just want this crap to be over with. But I am cool with moving forward with Kevin and Francisco. I really like Garcia and the reality is if Bonzi is back he'll get ZERO time.

If Bonzi leaves I also think that its for nothing. Unless we get something back we can use, then why would Petrie take on the extra salary? He wouldn't. And he probably shouldn't.

Of course who knows what will go down. People at the Bee can be wrong sometimes.

I agree with ya there, the only way I want something back is if its the equal value of Bonzi, I don't wanna throw that money away on players that are going to sit at the end of the bench.

Only if he wants to leave us for less money. Since Detroie (the most natural destination) already used their MLE, I can't imagine where he would go for less. Though he could walk for less, I would be absolutely shocked if he did.

To clarify my own point more. The only realistic situation where I could see Bonzi walking for nothing would be if Petrie had a trade for KT that included an expiring contract (Magloire?) and was getting ready to move way under the cap for what is supposed to be a very deep free agent pool next off season. It's possible he believe that with another year of the young guys developing and player's adjusting to a new coach, that he can fill the holes to make us a contender next season, either by signing talent or trading for a very good player to a team that wants cap relief.

Not saying I think that's going to happen, but it's the only scenario that makes sense to me for letting Bonzi walk.

What is that saying? Loose lips sink ships.

She may not have been told or told not to repeat it yet. If so, I'd hate for her to jeopordize her access to her source.

well the last thread VF21 started was the Stern threatens stern action thread that turned out to be a joke. Maybe she started this just to see how saying nothing could turn into about 20 pages??

Im watching ESPN in case i hear something. I understand why VF might not say any more--as long as I find out what is going on and hopefully soon. Its been a lot longer than 48 hours though lol.

We could use some more "moveable pieces" look how good it did us with trading Webber.
Now instead of having $20M coming off the books at the end of this season, we have maybe under $10M from Corliss and Potatoehead and have a undersized head case with a huge contract for years to come that we cannot unload, a guy (Corliss) who rides the pine and Potatoehead who is anything, but the answer...we had Monia who had potential but now he's back in Russia.

How cruel that would be. I don't think she would test us like that in our weakened state. Everyone knows we are at our wits end for some news to break out of Kingsland. While everyone else is doing something, nothing has come out of our franchise except our Summer League undrafted guys that do look promising. We have missed the FA market, however weak it was this year to improve our team. Other teams waited for awhile too, as you could see that the FA guards out there were still available, then other teams got smart and made their other deals and didn't waste anymore time. I know we have a cuvited power guard here unlike no other, but either **** or get off the pot. :p

Partially true; however, keep in mind that Corliss and Potatoehead do come off the book at the end of this year. Trading KT is still key. However, I also don't think our team would have developed the way it did with Webber still being here and demanding to be the focal point. Besides, if you thought that Miller and KT were a brutal front line. Miller and last year's incarnation of Webber would have given you nightmares.
