KT definitely stinks. We can all agree on that.... He just "doesn't get it", in terms of putting winning ahead of his personal agenda. And as far as his playoff performance, can anyone say total non-factor?
But let's not forget with the acquisition of Ron Artest...our playsets are more effective at taking the ball out of his hands....which is where it should be...out of his hands.
Now we just ask him to finish down low...take the ball up strong....which he is pretty good at doing....drawing contact and finishing ....clear the boards...
No more KT on the wing looking to create....YIKES!!!
KT initiating the offense would be somewhere between the 8th and 9th option on Mussellmans play chart after Mike Bibby shoots a rolling fade hook shot from the corner.
Everyone knows KT as a pouting turnover machine with an erratic jumper...but with Mussellmans anticipated playsets, Ron Artest controlling the offense along with Bibby, KT just needs to hang out around the hoop and do his thing....however underwhelming that thing may be.
If he gives us 10 points and 7 boards, and a disappearing act in the playoffs, that won't justify his 7 million dollar salary....but it is much less of poison pill to swallow than paying C-Webb 21 million dollars to watch him hobble, monopolize, shoot unconsciously, whine to the refs, and lead a team into the lottery....oh yeah, a force the exodus of your franchise player.
How quickly we forget the dire situation we could be in?!
C-Webb is owed 42 million over the next 2 years, and to extricate ourselves from that obligation, Kenny Thomas is what we are stuck with, for now, barring a little Petrie hocus-pocus trickery.
Think of it this way, and KT is a mere underachieving nuisance, and not a guy who will hold your franchise hostage for the next two seasons.
