only in as far as it makes Fox expendable...i dont actually want him to be that good lol
I feel ya but as I said elsewhere they don't need to bend over for Fox because they're the frickin Spurs. They don't have two decades of futility in which to beg players to stay and overpay just because they flash greatness once every 5-6 games. He's got a janky finger and can't dribble through a crowd which not long ago was his primary skill set. I could throw lobs to Wemby.

My wife and I watch Deuce and Mo here in Australia all the time. She gets a kick out of them as a couple.
I like what they have to say , also enjoy Jerry Reynolds insights.
Even enjoy Matt George enough when he has a guest on from some other locked on team. That can get interesting. Otherwise if its just him he’s too hyped up for my liking.

Best player available /= most able to contribute now. In fact, BPA is often the opposite of that. If you're drafting BPA, you're taking the guy you believe is going to have the greatest long-term impact throughout his career. If you're drafting for need, you worry about players who can contribute now and can shore up areas of deficiency. It sounds like you think the Kings should have drafted for need. I like Ware a lot. I think he's going to be an impact player. He might ultimately have been the best player available. But we don't know that yet.

Personally, I think you always draft BPA unless you're already contending for a title, and if doing so happens to fill a need or shore up an area of deficiency, then great. Monte thought Carter was BPA, and I happen to agree. If it turns out that Monte was wrong, well, eventually the Kings will hire a new GM who hopefully makes the right call. But it's all rolls of the dice, rarely is it clear cut, and often it's inexplicable why one guy pans out and another doesn't. It's easy enough to say who BPA was in hindsight, but we're not even close to making that judgment yet with this most recent draft class.
Drafting for need very nearly ever works out or have we all forgot the GM Vlade experience?
In extremely obvious cases ( Luka, Wemby, Flag and so on) yeah, BPA, but lower in a draft , especially a team that wants to compete immediately, I think drafting to need makes more sense. For example was there really something Carter has shown that made him clearly better pick than Ware, even so one had a gazillion people ahead of him in a rotation and other pretty much no one.The continuous refusal by Kings to add length is hard to stomach

I guess you haven't been reading about him on this board since the draft. Do a little history reading and then get back with me.
There is a thing called upside and floor. Upside is probably Monk with defense, Jrue Holiday. Low side is GP3. Every player with those athletic tools, that consistently produces numbers (as he is per minute already), and has some semblance of guard skill has really high potential. 2nd coming? Nah, don't think that was the deal, lol.

The thing that happened is some fans during the rough times put all the pressure on him to turn things around when he finally got time. That's on them. They clearly don't know history or the game. They're probably the same people willing to take a chicken sandwich for Keegan and thought Fox should be traded for a bag of chips a few years ago. Or that shooters routinely just forget how to shoot.

Draft picks are a long game. Don't get too high or too low.

There's also the fact Mike Brown not going to play Ware. I don't think it's being dismissive of his contributions to state his obvious blind spots and he seemed to have no interest in playing bigs.

I know dude’s bounced around and generally been a bust. But he can’t be worse than Alex Len, right?
As I wrote a few days ago, Mo Bamba averaged 9.6 rebounds per 36 minutes with the Clippers this season. He also had 28 blocks in 28 games. That is not a "bust" in my opinion. We need defense! He is also a pretty good offensive rebounder.

But he is a terrible free throw shooter.

Multiple teams would not let a 7 footer go if he was an impactful rebounder and rim protector that also shoots 35% from 3 for his career. The numbers may look good per 36, but I don’t think that’s telling us the whole story.

Is Fox trolling the Kings now??

“We definitely want to win,” he said of the Spurs’ game against the Hawks in Wednesday night. “We still have their picks, so that’s definitely a thing.”

I don’t ever remember players bringing up picks their organization has as a motive to win. Just seems like a weird comment to throw that in.
Just another example of his thoughts being in the wrong place. He's not very good mentally. Just a track type athlete who is pretty good at basketball

I have no clue who that clown is or why anyone should care what he has to say.
Before current events Twitter was a great place to chat hoops. Even under new management news breaks there before anywhere else. Kings twitter does offer some good takes you won't find here or on reddit (especially now that Kings and NBA subs have banned linking to twitter). Many folks are moving over to other places but still have to link back to the big boys on the hellsite. Beyond that it appears the NBA, NFL and other leagues do not want official content going anywhere but twitter. There may be exclusive deals behind the scenes.

So yeah, knowing your way around Kings twitter, if you choose to a lot of these people with these clown takes are very well known, dare I say even respected, in that community.

Agreed. I started using Twitter around 2016ish. As a high school football guy, it was a great way to keep up with scores and news. I then discovered that it was great for breaking news of all sorts, especially trades and FA signings. Been frequenting it ever since. That said, it has become more and more polluted with nonsense and you gotta be a little savvy to filter it properly.

Unfortunately there's very few people who will even consider that the team has any kind of real strategy over there. A lot of it is because Ham and his ilk have an outsized voice there. It's like the complete opposite of how he is regarded here.
