Hmm, Bobby Portis having the PO is a little scary. Jval on the value deal for 2 more seasons is so dang appealing, even if he doesn't have Portis versatility to go to the 4
I think it’s hard to go wrong with either guy. Thing about Portis is he has that postseason history that we can rely on come April whereas Jonas’s big postseason highlight is him demolishing us in the playoffs-in last year n

Jonas is more appealing, but I'd take either if available for second round picks. Not too worried about the Portis PO, as it's somewhere around $13M, not a killer, could even be worth it. Unless you mean that you're worried he bolts.

The whole reason they signed a starting level C for that cheap is to trade him for assets,Val took it since there's not much interest in big post up Cs but there's not probably 20 better Cs if given the same playing time in the NBA.
Well they better get to trading. Times almost up. I agree tho I'd love to see him on the Kings. I don't want to give up anyone but for 2nd rounds for sure

Bro. She was born and raised in San Antonio. They are not your friends.
I think you misunderstood. I don't think of her like a friend. I am saying in 40 years of Kings basketball I know the names of exactly two wives and the other I know because she was cuckoo for coco puffs.

Recee put herself out there, her and De'Aaron were like a package deal and if he loved Sacramento so did she. She'd boost folks in the community etc.

My point here was that the way this was orchestrated makes it feel like it was all an act. They ran one big PR campaign to get out of town and make the team look bad and judging my the reaction in other forums it worked on many. I don't like that. One bit.

When they had the kid and got married things changed. They treated it like a business instead of a passion. And listen I don't blame them, they are maximizing there position. Good for them. Def not good for Kings and Fans tho.

Now he thinks he can coast and still try to win a championship. Best of both worlds. But it's not going to be easy street over in San Antonio. They will still need him to do heavy lifting. Max contracts come with a heavy price, even if your 2nd. Wound not suprise me to see him traded multiple times before his career ends. Don't get too comfortable in San Antonio

Folks are under rating DeRozan being stoked about bringing LaVine onboard. If the Kings went with young players, DeRozan would have been gone. It would have been dreary up in here. Now I think the Kings can bring on 2 rotational pieces and make a run.

It might be super fun.
And as it sits if this swing doesn't work Zach sounds like a great leader for young players, the Kings have young guys on the backburner, their own picks, a bunch of others, and maybe could even get more if and when they move DeMar. Best of all worlds here. Finally Monte has put himself in a position to head any direction rather than being stuck for seasons at a time.

<Hours after the team officially announced a trade dealing away Caleb Martin and acquiring Quentin Grimes, the Sixers listed KJ Martin as out against the Mavs with a “trade pending” designation.

PHLY Sports’ Kyle Neubeck first reported the news. A source confirmed to NBC Sports Philadelphia that KJ Martin trade talks are in the works. Jake Fischer reported the Sixers are “weighing multiple options” for Martin, “with a deal expected to be completed by tomorrow.”>

Apparently, Sacramento originally drafted KJ Martin in 2020 in the second round. He has been out since December 23 with a foot injury.

He was attached to the Kings so it make some sense. They were asking for a 2nd rounder or something and the Kings have plenty of those and the ability to send no salary back to Philly which is likely what they're doing here.

I hope the Kings are not targeting K Martin. Why would we target an undersized power forward. I’d rather role with IJ.

My feelings are similar to yours.

Anybody that knows my history here at KF should know that I was a super proponent of drafting #5. I lobbied hard before the 2017 draft and have been a STAUNCH defender of #5 from that time up til just recently.

I always thought the kid was super smart, well-spoken, and a threat on both ends of the floor. And for years it seemed like he wanted to be here in SAC, especially so once he extended past his rookie contract.

But then things seemed to change once he got married and changed agents. At least that's how it seems to me. I mean, let's not pretend he didn't just force a trade to where his wife grew up (and likely still has family). I don't see that as a coincidence. If the kid is a beta husband, more power to him. But I've lost a lot of respect for him and his recent behavior.

More on that topic, his message to us fans is a bunch of BS. Specifically the 2nd paragraph. It's completely disingenuous, and a flat out lie. It's beyond insulting that he believes the fans will buy that nonsense. If he really wanted to end his career in SAC and never expected his time here to end the way that it has -- HE was in complete control of it all! But I'll digress.

In the end, he did the franchise and fans dirty -- not the other way around. And we won't forget it.

The good thing is, while we know how good of a player he can be at times, we get to move on from the frustration of his inconsistent performances and often Laissez-faire, nonchalant attitude.

I'm sure I'll be in the minority on this, but I'm rooting for Swipa's time in San Antonio to fail miserably. I'm not going to go so far as to wish injury on anybody, but I certainly won't cry Argentina if Wemby and/or De'Aaron aren't consistently available for that franchise. And if they both are, I hope they both suffer from coming up short when things matter most.

Sorry to those offended by my attitude, but that's how I feel. And as someone that supported De'Aaron through thick and thin up until a week or so ago -- I believe I've earned the right to feel as I do.
I wasn’t a huge Fox fan but I think you all are doing a poor job of looking from his perspective. If we thought this team needed forwards what do you think Fox thought. And yet this team drafted a player whose primary position in the NBA was the same as Foxes 3 ****ing times. One other time they traded the pic to pay Domas.

We have well documented the Davion Draft and the slew of forwards still on the board.

Everyone on this board was slobbering over Ware at Miami. He was on the board when Monte picked Carter.

Maybe instead of blaming Fox train a bit of Venom at the GM who in 5 years failed to get this team any net forward help or length. Maybe Fox was as tired of it as some of the rest of us.
