Well, NOW they are. But since the summer they've now traded DeRozan, LaVine, and Caruso and the most valuable thing they've gotten back is their own 2025 draft pick that was used to get DeRozan in the first place. Unless you're super high on Josh Giddey, which I'm definitely not.
considering how terrible their return on the trade was (their own pick back, Tre Jones, Collins, Kevin Huerter), how terrible were the other teams’ proposals??
Folks are under rating DeRozan being stoked about bringing LaVine onboard. If the Kings went with young players, DeRozan would have been gone. It would have been dreary up in here. Now I think the Kings can bring on 2 rotational pieces and make a run.
Sean Cunningham just said he’s pretty confident there are 2 more moves coming, “at least 1 for sure.” Made it sound like they are done, just waiting for them to be finalized.

he was very confident, and he has legit sources. But we’ve seen things like this in the past and they fell apart for whatever reason. He did hint it’s for draft capital and it’s for guys they’ve been connected to in the past.

Yeah, the insider guys normally don't like to throw out the guarantee like that, unless they know for certain. If they're BSing or aren't super sure, they'll dance around the response. Him being like "One deal is for sure done, they're just waiting for chips to fall" is pretty telling.
ok that’s weird. Sean doesn’t sound like he is describing fringe depth pieces. He is sorta hinting at a player that would require a first round pick or significant amount of seconds. We don’t have the salary to trade for Cam or John. Who makes 16 mil or less and is worth a first round pick? Portis in the exception for a first and KJ Martin for Lyles and picks? I don’t think Portis is worth a first given his contract situation… hmm who else?

Yeah, could be we're just sending all our 2nds out for a couple rotation guys. Or maybe we are paying the first round tag for Bob Williams? Draft capital for PJW?

If you weren't excited after I spent 24 hours blasting the org you're gonna love him after I interview someone you've never heard of from the Locked On network out of Chicago!
Hmm, Bobby Portis having the PO is a little scary. Jval on the value deal for 2 more seasons is so dang appealing, even if he doesn't have Portis versatility to go to the 4
