Speaking of which, would you sign Lonzo Ball if he were made available?
21 million but an ender. I am not sure that's best use of our remaining space. Not sure if you can get Chicago to buy him out or something if he agrees to sign with us. Probably collusion that would get us moved to Seattle but NBD if it is Luka to LAL.

He is available, btw.

I mean, people are making fun of us for this comp, but wasn't that core crushing souls before Lonzo got hurt? And we without a doubt have a much higher talent basis around LaVine and DDR now
I was about to say something similar.

Their 21-22 team won 46 games before losing to Milwaukee in the 1st round (no shame in that). And as already stated, Lavine was out most of their last season together.

With a better surrounding cast (which the KINGS have) it certainly isn't ridiculous to expect 50+ wins.

I’ve spent a ton of money on Fox jerseys for me and my fam. I saw the talent up close before we drafted him. Suffice to say we’ve been huge fans. What I realized years ago, specifically when he couldn’t operate with Hali, was he’s not someone an organization can build around if you want to compete for championships. He tantalized you with his talent, but even before we drafted him I was like who is this guy: is he the one who scores 40 against Lonzo and UCLA and you’re thinking he’s the best player in the world, or is he the dude 2 nights later who didn’t show up against North Carolina? His effort has always been inconsistent and represents who he is as a leader. It sucks but I think he even has reconciled that in his own mind by pushing to go to the Spurs.

I have a ton of buddies that live and breathe Kentucky basketball. Even before we drafted Fox, they adored him for his talent. But they said Monk was their heart and soul
I started questioning Fox back when we had Bogi and Bogi would be standing alone on the weak side and Fox refused to pass to him. Fox to me has never been a willing passer. He to me passes when he knows his shot can’t be taken vs when it is best for the teammate.

I have long thought Monk might be the better offensive lead guard and said so. Many posted data that indicated otherwise. We are going to soon see though I think the Lavine acquisition might complicate things. I don’t see him as a willing primarily weakside catch and shoot Guy. So we will see how the fit works.

I’ve been stewing on Fox. Initially I thought I was completely neutral on him being gone. My mind’s changed over the last few days.

De’Aaron Fox will have next to none positive lasting legacy in Sacramento when we all look back on it.

Because of this fringe all-star, we skipped Luka Doncic for a “better fit.” Okay whatever, Vlade’s an idiot. How about the time we got the absolute steal of the draft in Tyrese Haliburton and the dude quit so hard it tanked his value to zero so we had to trade Hali instead to appease him. And of course when it became apparent he wouldn’t snag a SuperMax dude quit again and actively tanked his trade value with demands.

Add to that, he just wasn’t a super likable guy. I remember once upon a time he had a charisma about him. That all went away when he cut his hair and the NBA told him he couldn’t wear the ninja headband. There just wasn’t anything to get behind. This really clicked when he nonchalantly was like “I don’t even care about being an all-star” the other year. If that’s your fire, how can your fanbase get behind you?!

He’s a moody streaky scoring guard. They’re a dime a dozen. We’d never win with him as The Guy. So… I’m glad he’s gone.

I was too nice in the Thank You thread.

Imagine Fox seething if they got Lonzo and he changed his number to 5.

He was our franchise face point guard who couldn’t shoot, couldn’t defend, wasn’t a great passer, complained non stop about calls, was a bad leader with terrible body language, and at the end of his tenure told us to trade him to 1 team and 1 team only. I’m glad he’s gone and we didn’t resign him to a 5 year deal.

That is the way the "Thank You" threads work, as was explained. And believe me, your comment was FAR from the only comment deleted.

In the meantime, I would recommend that you reread the forum rules (link), particularly the last two sentences of #12:

It seems you have been habitually violating this rule over the last few weeks. If you would like to discuss moderation further, my PMs are open, as are those of the other mods.
I have zero disagreements with mods. If there is something I said you didn't like you can always PM me. Didn't notice i was bothering you

To be honest the moderation team here is pretty good. Certainly my opinions often stand in contrast to the general consensus but I also try not to derail game threads too much and let thank you threads be thank you threads.

knowing that line has served me well. And since you are one of the few with similar opinions I personally would like to see you stick around ;-)
I said something positive about Fox. Said he was a great role model and family man. Just because I didn't like the way he left doesn't mean I hate the guy. Feel it was about the same positive as it was negative. But again if I said something they want me to change just PM me right? I had no idea

Watching Castle it's kind of strange they went after Fox, i don't know how good Castle will be but he reminds me of a SG version of Ja Morrant maybe wont have the offensive talent but is much bigger and a better defender it's a strange pairing unless they plan on moving him for another elite piece (Devin Booker imo would be a insane fit)as good as Fox or better.

If I were the Spurs I would be going all In you never know how long a 7*4 guy without a post game and plays like a wing/guard with high excertion is going to last I don't know if the human body at that size can play like that for a long time.
This is what I said. I domt even know why they wanted Fox in the first place. He's not someone you can easily plug in. He has special talents that domt really translate to the modern nba. But I'm glad someone loved him

I don't think a player has ever forced their way out of Sacramento the way Fox has and that was always going to make the TY thread a challenge. If there has been they certainly weren't a fan favorite/face of the franchise player. DDV's agent was trying to bully Monte but DDV doesn't matter. I guess Sasha, but he came here sold one thing only to have Coach Brown deliver another.

I'm guessing a lot of us who really liked Fox are taking this harder than those who thought he was always off. I never gave up hope he would be that guy he flashed until that Detroit game.
