De'Aaron Fox Traded to Spurs for Zach Lavine, three first round picks

Mods had to delete a bunch of negative posts from Fox's though. This thread seems to be doing the work any thanks for nothing thread might contain.
Makes sense. I didn't want to sully Fox's thank you thread with negativity myself, so I stayed out of it. I respect any fan who still holds any feelings of good will towards him.

I'm not one of those fans though. ;)

Will miss Kev. I wonder if we even have "Light the Beam," without him. He was the player who really embraced it at first, and I remember all the guys on that first team laughing about how Kev was the guy who really loved the beam. He was a big part of taking from a corny thing designed by management to something that the team and city bought into.
A great teammate with a lot of heart and thick skin. I know Kev will add value wherever he goes.

yes, but I’m more interested in that 3pt shooting and sabonis and working together . Could open up the offense
And LaVine is actually potentially THE answer to still running DHO and having it not sputter out like the last few seasons. You can argue what value LaVine should have gotten prior when being discussed on the board but on the surface this dude was literally the answer for the DHO. Brown ditched it for more pick and roll which was a Fox move, now, this is a Domas move. Lets see where it goes from here.

This is a lie... Do you seriously think the Kings would go into a big trade like this and not know everything they were getting back. Trade has been confirmed, but when I read this I just about busted out laughing.
yeah well in this case one could hope they were renegotiating. I’m not sure what is worse
1) not knowing the protections
2) knowing the protections and pulling the trigger

-RIP Sactowndog's run as an insider. 10 minutes ago-now
Nice comment. You are on a run lately misreading what I said. My run as an eternally hopeful but often disappointed Kings fan continues as it does for the rest of you.

when I actually have insider data (which is much much less frequent now versus 2 years ago) I will post it as such. Rumors is not sources.

Rumors are more “**** I really hope this is true”

The fit is yet to be seen, but have we ever had such an impressive starting five in their own right.
Three that have been allstars, two that maybe could be. All decent citizens that appear willing to play in this small market. I maybe overly optimistic especially considering how tough the West is.
Now even if Monte only swings a simple trade for Val or Robert Williams this should be a team worth watching.

They know there stuff and actually watch games!! All three said we made out like bandits and they love Lavine. Lavine is an elite scorer if we can get a bing wing next year we might have something here along with monk/Keegan taking a leap

He's a better offensive player than Fox....and if Christie can motivate some defensive effort out of him, it's well within reason that he's a lot better for this team. Also combining the fact that he wants to be here

Bojan’s legs might be spaghetti at this point but if he’s still got something left in the tank, he’d be a great fit playing off of Domas (on offense)
No idea if Simmons is even playable but I wouldn’t be surprised if we take a look at him given prior interest. If he’s a cheap pickup that could add length rebounding and defense to the bench. And maybe he’d prefer a small market but who knows

Seems to me like we either hurry the hell up and fill our positions of need with good players to make us a competitor or blow it up. Gonna be tough to get a good pg and pf that are starting caliber and that fit. If I had to bet my money I'd bet we're 1.5 seasons away from a complete overhaul.

I was still pretty impressed with his defense when the Nets were in Sacramento. He doesn’t bite on a lot of pump fakes. That stood out to me when the Kings are constantly looking like they’re walking on the moon defensively.

Plus, he’s got size and can still score a few baskets, rebound at a high rate and make a few plays. I think he would be a no brainer on the buyout market to come off the bench.

And yeah, you never know. He might remember he’s talented
