Amick: De’Aaron Fox requests trade

Stephon Castle #4 overall pick by SA 2024 draft has NBA all-star potential at 6'6", age 20. I want him in any deal with SA or no deal. Fox is 6'3", age 27 simply making a business decision wanting trade, specifying where wants to land. Of course, Huerter part of the deal but a deal without Castle is arguably Kings getting fleeced receiving pieces/draft picks (we'll take bunch from SA) but handing them arguably an NBA superstar. Make happen Monte and the sooner the better Kings move on from Foxy.

Paolo and Cade actually had the numbers to quiet the doubters.... Castle is averaging 11.9pts 3.5asts 2.4rebs on shooting splits of 40.4/26.1/72.1

with those numbers, are we just praying that Castle turns into anthony edwards 2.0?
Spurs fans are pointing to Castle having better rookie numbers than SGA but SGA also had an unprecedented growth curve only matched by that of Kawhi Leonard and pretty much no one else.

Well, they need to move him soon or somehow together put up a convincing front that this isn’t a lame duck roster in the event they can’t find a deal for him this season.

Fox was burning a hole in the lineup yesterday. I couldn’t see myself enjoying a good performance or getting down on a bad performance anymore. It’s just awkward.

Surprisingly the Kings haven’t been put in this situation before. Atleast not as a team that actually wants to win games and not just tracking the development of different players. It would be easier if they were bad and they didn’t have a whole team that will mostly be sticking around for the next few years regardless of Fox.

I almost want them to just do what New Orleans did with AD. Sit him so he doesn’t get further injury and he can’t keep putting up clunkers like he did last night. So we can be invested in the guys we’re going to have.

That said, I’m not on board for a deal for the sake of deal so i guess we’ll just have to soldier on. But it is going to be awkward watching the games.

I just hope the Spurs front office isn’t half as delusional as their fans appear to be. San Antonio only has one untouchable player.

If we can't move him you have him get the surgery and send him home.

Spurs are just trying to get us to blink first. Someone else has to sweep in with an offer, there's a dozen first and second year players around the league I'd probably take with 3-4 picks and one salary guy that isn't trash.

Castle is low on my list he's just the only guy they have that isn't a role player that isn't Wemby.

The correct move is to sit Fox for the entire season gotta get that finger right after all. Bigger picture i would do the same next year if he's still on the roster and a legit package hasn't been made. Worst case let him walk free agency with no super max possible to send a message to the next guy.

The crazy thing is the Kings might actually be able to do that and not be worse off. Monte draft plan is +++.

This. No way in hell would he be playing at all. If he isn’t traded by the deadline I’d bet he has surgery on his hand effectively killing his value. Hell, I don’t know what surgery would do to the trade timeline or if it would even hurt his value. What would happen if that went down?
