Amick: De’Aaron Fox requests trade

I think we got a baseline the other night and that's part of why the team went to Paul. 1) communicate a possible can't say no offer is on the table so Fox's preferred destination can match and 2) ask if Fox would extend with whoever made it.

Paul took that as the opportunity to go on the offensive and make the FO look bad. But most likely everyone has been upfront that Fox would like to go to San Antonio before yesterday.
Thats not really the baseline though is it if youre asking Fox if he'd extend with the team who made the offer. True base line is Fox un-extended. If you could find a deal or deals that you'be be willing to take for unextended Fox with one of the other 28 teams, the Spurs or whoever the preffered destinations are need to cough up more, now.

so seriously asking. Is there something I’m missing about Stephon Castle? I admittedly haven’t watched every minute the Spurs have played this year but he’s a strong defender with good drive ability who can’t shoot worth a damn.
This is such a bad situation. These teams, especially the spurs, know that Fox is pushing the kings hand so why are they gonna give up any of their up and coming players? I think a whole lot of kings fans are gonna be terribly disappointed in what the kings ultimately end up getting for Fox. I figured they would get a haul before all this noise. Now I don’t think they are gonna get anywhere near what a player of his caliber SHOULD pull in.

Even Kings media I like seems to have completely swallowed the Klutch narrative here.

Also a lot of people somehow think it was Wes or an underling that leaked to DLo when DLo spent a considerable amount of time destroying Wes yesterday as the idiot who screwed everything up so I doubt Wes leaked the story when Paul is right there and I am sure Shams only runs on a Paul leak.

But what do I know? All the idiots in charge right now did was flip one of the worst Kings teams around in short order for Domas, Lyles, Huerter, Monk and reach a 3 seed in year one of this newfangled roster only for the coach to decide to reinvent the wheel in year two to considerable different results, and sink the ship in year 3. They replace the coach and immediately win 11 of 14. I think the FO knows what they are building.

If Fox wanted to go to the Spurs because he has young kids, his wife is from there, it’s a stable organization, and Wemby, I’d respect that. If Kings were quietly negotiating that it would make sense.

Klutch then throws a fit and won’t play ball with Kings, thinking Kings should take a lesser offer from the Spurs? Maybe the logic is get it done now, and protect Spurs assets for De’Aaron’s future team. Instead they open the floodgates which could end up in a godfather offer to the Kings that sends Fox somewhere he doesn’t want to go

Pure speculation but that’s what we’re here for lol

when they say break in their favor, do they mean lucking into Duncan after the had Robinson And the multiple dynasties that followed? Or getting another generational big last year? Give me a freaking break

Which team that has been rumored to have interest in De'Aaron Fox can provide the best return for him in a trade?

Asking for a friend.
My rankings would be Houston, San Antonio/Miami (future oriented/win now), Orlando.

IF multi team deal involving Butler, OKC would possibly have more picks to give us but I am not sure what players we could receive.

I think that is about it unless you ship him to a doormat club for 3 unprotected firsts.

When the kings ultimately get screwed, I can’t wait to see what kind of reception Fox gets from the fans when he’s back at the G1C in a spurs jersey.
He'll get a good one. Klutch narrative has won the day in most other social media.

Dame got a hero's welcome in Portland last night and he went full heel in his trade demand. Locals blamed the FO.

Agreed. It's pretty clear that Fox and his family have one foot out the door. Our best hope is that there are two teams on his list and we can get a bidding war going. But if it's the Spurs or bust I can't see Vassell/Castle/Sochan coming back to us.

All signs point to Vivek firing. Also the team's play in the aftermath speaks for itself. It was a well deserved firing. And why throw Monte to the wolves who hate him who created much of the mess they are then going to blame Monte for?

Also I was additionally speaking to many folks on twitter and reddit demanding Kings do a presser right now to address the Fox situation.
Remember, Monte did not hire Brown. That was Vivek. Right not to make Monte take the heat.

I think it is safe to say its still a baseline. Team might still do the deal without guarantee if they think them + Fox is a conference finals team this season. It's not like the Spurs really have much great to offer outside of picks.

If that’s the case I wouldn’t blame the kings FO telling the spurs to shove it. We’ll wait till Houston will take calls in the offseason. If not we will wait it out into next year. It could backfire BIGTIME but it’s better than giving in to the F’ing spurs. Screw them. You want to waste another year and a half, SO BE IT.

I don't know how much was who. I don't care either. Vivek fired him and Monte shouldn't stand in front of Ham and a bunch of other idiots to defend something that wasn't his call and it wouldn't matter in the end. You have faith you built a good squad and Brown was the problem and let the results speak for themselves in a few weeks. They did.

And I'm sorry, Fox couldn't seem to care less than he did about the firing. He took a nap, he played with his kids. He has things more important in his life, he said.

If the Spurs are not willing to part with their best talent, short of their starting center, what is there to talk about? Monte McNair is not going to be fleeced, for goodness sakes.

Kind of reminding me when LaMarcus left Portland (for the Spurs, of course). He was kind of the reluctant guy in Portland after Roy and Oden couldn't go, but Dame came along and became the guy. Domas has sort of done that here, and now it seems if Fox is not going to be reluctant star he is going to play sidekick where he wants. LMA did ultimately leave for nothing in that cap bubble year, but his final days were full of public relations disaster and failed extension talk.
