One bright spot to take away: even with them dog tired and facing the elevation change on a back to back, the Kings have still not lost a 4th quarter under coach Christie.
We lost both this game and the Milwaukee game to a bad half quarter in each game we can clearly hang with the best teams. Really need Monte to get another wing or a big to slide Lyle’s to power forward. And my god bench Huerter let Doug get all his minutes
Listen, I’ve heard that Fox is a superstar from the majority of this board for years. So if he’s a superstar, a competent GM should be able to bring in a pretty good haul for him right? So is Fox a star or not?
Well, that would depend on what counts as a "haul" these days. Some might say that a bunch of unprotected firsts counts as a haul: would that make the team better? Because I don't think that the Kings are trying to tear it down to the screws and start over. If y'all trade Fox, you should probably be trying to get somebody who can help the team right now. Not five years from now, right now. So my question would be, what team has guys that fit that description who needs Fox more than they need those guys?

I suggest trading Fox for three worse players, one of whom has a contract so bad that Geoff Petrie is still probably paying him money, and NO draft assets whatsoever!

Actually, if there were no star for star trades picks might be the way to go if Monk can maintain his play when Fox was out. The hard thing is DeMar. Any big trade that brings back a wing pushes him back to a spot he hasn't played full time at in basically forever. Offensively it doesn't change things but the Kings will get less athletic which they are already not nearly elite in ability wise. If Fox were moved setting things up to pivot sooner than later might be the way to go and these days picks are king.
As long as your proposed trade is better than the proposed trade from that one random Rockets fan who recently tried to come on here and unnecessarily stir the pot...IYKYK.
I already suggested a deal I thought could get done that would bring us a 6’10 220 starting power forward and a 6’ 10” 230 back up center who is in the conversation for all defense plus a likely lottery pick.
It would change the construction of this team significantly, make us infinitely more able to match up, and would make us a very good defensive team.

I ain't dusting off a thing just yet. This was a loss in my book even before the game against the Warriors last night. Denver's just a tough matchup, and playing up there on the tail end of a B2B is pretty much a recipe for disaster.

Think I'm ready to go get Val or Collins for Huerter and whatever picks are needed. If only we could have landed a GG Jackson, Herb Jones etc with one of our 2nds over the years.... sigh
Yeah, but the issue is that people like myself and @Mr. S£im Citrus find it very difficult to think, and believe, that the Rockets would be willing to let THEM go for HIM.
Yeah, the Rockets are obviously targeting the path of using picks unless Greens recent play isn't changing their minds about them looking to deal him assuming the blurbs here and there were true. The Rockets have a boatload of potentially good/decent picks to blow on a deal. Just like the Thunder, that's likely their goal with any big major get.

I don't believe that would improve Sacramento's defense by enough to justify that trade. You appear to have a much higher opinion of Jabari Smith, Jr. and Jonathan Isaac than I do. Either that, or a much lower opinion of Fox.

That or a lower perception of our existing length and defense at forward. It’s not hard to improve upon our current defensive front court. And Isaac is considered an all defensive candidate.
I’m sure some will post other overall stats but I will use def Rating / Def WS because that is all I’m willing to pay for
J. Smith Jr. 105.9 / .142
J Isaac 105.9 / .078
Alex Len 113.0 / .019
Trey Lyles 110.2 / .069
D Sabonis 111.5 / .107
Keegan 110.5 / .115
DeRozan 112.0 / .101
having Isaac as your back-up center and Smith Keegan and DeRosan as your primary forward rotation with some Lyles minutes at Center and Forward makes you much better defensively and lowers the minutes your front court guys are playing which is extreme.
Guards are:
Monk, Carter Sheppard
Ellis , Huerter, Jones
(DeRozan plays 2 minutes also)
