When Do We Blow It Up?

Known playoff choker age 35 can’t come off the bench this franchise is something else man. Fox and his wife have both come out and basically said he had nothing to do with brown firing how stupid do you have to be to fire him jesus
And to me, hearing that was his answer makes me feel like this was definitely the right call. Dude was in that phase where he was literally throwing stuff at the wall. His last ditch was to put Monk in the starting lineup and every metric thusfar says that was a mistake for whatever goals Brown had on the court. Maybe that changes under a new coach, we'll see.

The fact that they put Christie in charge tells me what the FO is thinking. They're thinking tank and hopefully get a high pick in a loaded draft. Not sure I agree with this but appears to be where it's headed. If somehow DC rights the ship and they start winning well they'll take that as well. I don't like interim head coaching jobs it's like you can have the job for now but, we have no confidence in you.
If I had to bet, Christie isn't a tank move, it's a shake up that hopefully leads to a wake up move. Most in season changes like this are unless that coach has totally lost his team, which he was heading that way, we've seen it too many times, but he hadn't yet. This move was of the last ditch variety where if this doesn't work, nothing will.

Some of the reports have said Vivek went to India before the Detroit game (which is weird as I thought he was at the game with a nasty look on his face??) and since nobody in the media seems to believe Monte made this decision I am not sure what a press conference does until he is back.

I do think it is interesting that the media has decided that Monte made multiple calls with Vivek and Matina to mean Vivek demanded this vs. Monte pleading with them to let him pull the trigger. Monte knows as much as anyone that he is on life support and if Brown coached out the season they'd both be gone in mid-April.

I’m right in the middle on ham, I could take him or leave him. Grant on the other hand, I love the guy. I don’t take everything he says seriously but I love that he’s damn near the only one who doesn’t buy everything the team is trying to sell everyone on. Personally I can’t stand team schills like David Lombardi for the Niners. I’d like to know who is the kings David Lombardi.
Jam can at times be a team yes man but I’ve also heard him rip into the team. I still don’t understand why so many have a problem with him. He’s definitely not a David Lombardi type.

Anyone get the Athletic and can say where the Kings rank in terms of front offices?
For what it is worth (and it's not much, I think), we finished in a 54-way tie for 71st.

Meaning, we got 0 votes. The poll was of 40 "NBA executives", who voted for their top five NBA front offices. So, we didn't get as much as a 5th-place vote (no surprise there) and 53 other teams across the big-four didn't get a vote from the executives in their league either.

And in the end does it matter? The question at that point was whether or not to buy in EVEN MORE behind Brown. Hence why they might have consulted him on trade scenarios. Sorry, if I were Monte and Brown even hinted that the decline the last two seasons was because he didn't have a player like Kuzma, I'm out! haha. Yeah, it might set you back a little but it's clear this team was topped out, scouted, and the teams around them got better. The truth is, the Kings 1st year ascension actually lasted up until that deadline when teams like the Lakers, Mavs, and Suns pulled ahead on a talent level at the time. All 3 teams have had an up and down road since then and are aging, but their ceiling ended up far higher than Monte's first year team up to this point.

I’m not team ham either, I just don’t get the hate for
the guy. He seems so vanilla and non threatening to me. This team is so lucky to have the press corps that they have here in sac. If ham rubs people wrong here man, how would you guys handle the absolute crap storm that is the Chicago, NY, Boston, and even Atlanta press corps? The press here and in the Bay Area pulls no punches!
This. Sac media is so soft. Might be the softest media and fans in the country.

Sac media is soft because they want the players and coaches to like them because most of our media is fan media. And because they don't feel they get treated like ESPN all stars they have a hate boner for everyone in the FO.

What I find interesting about most of them is they have completely blasted everything we've gotten right and usually love all the moves that are complete misfires. Even someone who is actually employed by a real news station like Matt George did that stupid double down video. I just find it funny how many of them hated Brown and went hard on the retread and how he got fired quickly at LA and his second Cleveland stint now are so big mad.

I liked Brown and I'd have liked to see more meaningful changes and the people tap dancing his grave are being a little extra since we still have a broken team, but acting like this firing was unjustified based on results is weird. Especially when we regressed last season and he demanded a raise and early extension. Perhaps if he had not done so he'd have been given the rest of the season.

Ham's an idiot who has pulled some very shady **** when I, @Capt. Factorial, and others were working with Crown Downtown on keeping the Kings in Sac with a new arena - he screwed over Mike Tavares big time / tanked our project, and he's certainly done nothing of note as a "reporter" other than "confirm" what other people say. He's mad because he's an "insider" with no real inside sources to quote and a reporter who generally sucks at his job other than repeating what others have already said.

Admittedly I am not an unbiased judge of all things Ham after my personal experiences with him, but that's also why I'm not unbiased.

Was he not a fan of keeping the team in sac?

I have not commented while we were on that losing streak but I will keep most of my opinions to myself as most everything has been said by others already.

My thoughts are that we have a good team but the injuries that has us handicapped has really put us behind the 8 ball.

So I believe we need to go back to some things we know works most nights.
by watching our 2nd team putt up some serious ugly numbers Monk and Huerter with the 2nd unit hopefully would keep us going and not giving up huge leads.

yes we need help but by the all star break if the ship has not been righted then unfortunately we need to tank it. maybe getting another first round lottery pick by trading someone and keeping our pick this year. I would hate to miss out on our pick and still have a lousy season without much hope for the near future.
