Mike Brown Fired

After calming down a little bit, here's my coaching wishlist for the remainder of the year.
  • Move DeRozan to the bench. We can't compensate for his negative defense or lack of 3pt shooting anymore.
  • Play Keegan at SF and STOP MAKING HIM TURN INTO A DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST. JFC, make our PG guard PGs. Make our SGs guard SGs. Please get back on track with developing him as an all-around basketball player.
  • Play Keon Ellis
  • Guard the 3pt line
#3 fixes #2 and why Keon should be starting.

Some of you keep dissing Vivek, but how do you know this decision or any decisions for that matter are coming straight from him and not the current GM Monte McNair?

Please, by all means, provide the factual evidence. Because I haven't seen it.

Do I think Vivek is a great or even good owner? Probably not. But until something substantial comes out proving that Vivek is circumventing or overruling the GM he most recently hired -- this is just a bunch of over-reactionary nonsense.
It strains credulity that Brown without being fired by McNair without Vivek's approval, tacit or otherwise. Proof isn't needed, especially with the history of this owner and organization.

So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

And the good thing is DC has worked his *** off as a coach. If these players don't buy in with him, wrong players. Tear it down.
Yeah I'm of the mind that they start playing every game to win (no showcase, if you underperform you are benched) and if the team has improved at the deadline maybe you make a move to see if they have a run in them, otherwise you dangle Fox and build what's left around Domas.

Exactly nothing will change with Derozan starting he’s small, can’t spread the floor, stops ball movement, and is a negative on defense.

The only problem Ham had with it was it seemed like it was cooked up last minute. Like either Fox went in and said “it’s him or me” or the FO actually decided what to do 10 minutes after practice. Again, this was Ham and the News 10 guy saying it had all the vibes of the way the franchise USE TO do things.
Ham for the last two weeks has basically said we’re cooked if we fire Brown

The fact is not one person on this forum knows whether or not Doug is a good coach or not. I’m happy to give him a chance but to me we have many more pressing issues. I do think Mike lost the locker room i just tend to think that is a player/leadership issue. Guys like Monk and Fox aren’t the the right type of leaders and Domas is not vocal enough. Brown is best on a veteran team or a start up. We were supposed to be the former
Bibby and Bobby as assistants. Why not bring Vlade back as GM! OMG.

I’m not surprised. It doesn’t matter who you are, when you lose the team, you just bought yourself a ticket out of town.

The rift was evident from the way he was coaching through the media and othering the players. He wanted to keep his distance and losing Jordi who acted as the intermediary was a big loss. The vibes were no longer immaculate. Change had to start somewhere.

This was a terrible move. I love Doug as much as everyone but this is one of the worst decisions I've seen in a long time.

Why would they listen to the next coach now, the players just got the coach fired. The onlu way we salvage this is to trade fox as well.

Let Doug start with clean slate. This will hang over organization for a long time unless we win asap.

Good luck
Let it play out. Rather than the Karl/Cuz situation happening all over again. Doug is literally the definition of a clean slate if he installs his own system. Christie can get along with anyone. It's who he is. It's who the team needs now. If it doesn't work, rebuild.

Yikes. So we’re “THAT franchise” again all of a sudden.

Malone has every right to hold a grudge against this organization and speak his mind but this isn’t remotely the same. To start with it being relatively obvious Fox’s relationship to Brown is about 180 degrees from Boogie’s with Malone

I think he might have failed the IQ test by taking the job. Is Christie in dire financial straits, by any chance?? Desperate times call for desperate measures!
Doubtful. Doug just like in his playing days? Actually gives a crap. Notice Doug in the practice vids? Working with the lowest guy on the totem pole. That says something.
