[NBA] Comments that don't warrant a thread (DEC)

46 three pointers from the Rockets eventually did them in, they were shooting like the Kings out there from deep. Needed to keep going in the paint or mid-range. Sengun has no coordination in his movements, injury waiting to happen.

That bulls/hornets game on Friday. Wow. The NBA has got to do something about this obsession with the 3 point shot.
Between the 2 teams they attempted 97 3 pointers.
97!
Between the 2 teams, 75 of those 3’s were missed. That is UNBELIEVABLE. I couldn't believe how bad the product was.
The ratings are cratering and yes, this is probably why. The game has to go back to an alpha league with actual defense and they probably can't wait to transition post Curry which I think was the plan.

To make an extreme suggestion, we could move the three-point line back 5.25 feet to 29 feet. Eliminate the corner-three exception, the line would be a literal circle, and in this case would intersect the sideline just a hint closer to the baseline than the free throw line.

This would make a lot of people angry, as offenses are designed to utilize the corner three, and a corner two is a much different thing. In fact, a lot of modern offense - designed to get high-efficiency jump shots - would be nearly useless. But I imagine it would make Slim very happy (he could be happier, but we're not eliminating the three-point shot altogether in the near future in any imaginable timeline).

Or go full gimmick and do it like the MTV rock and jock back in the day. Have a 25 foot hoop drop next to the basket the last 5 minutes of every half where each basket is worth 10 points. Then make half court shots worth 30. lol.

The NBA ratings are going to go down. Younger generations aren’t going to sit down and watch 82 games at over 2 hours a piece. The NBA is consumed through watching games but also a lot of highlights, podcasts , social media like twitter and Blue sky. Nothing to worry about in my opinion and it’s got potential for huge global growth still.

Meh. Ask ten people, "Why are the NBA's ratings down?" and you'll get eight different answers. Hell, you yourself literally just implied that the declining ratings could be attributed to two things that had nothing to do with what @fansinceday1 said.

I am a fan of this, or at least 2-3 feet and going full arc out of bounds.

I was told I have too much time on my hands in a non-basketball forum for simply saying that 40%+ 3pt shooters have broken the game analytically when guys pass up uncontested dunks for a 3 from the corner.

So they want to trade their always injured stars on bad or expiring contracts without including any sweetener for whom exactly?
someone will take a risk on Zion if they make him available. Huge risk but he is 24 and a top 7or 8 talent when he plays. I actually feel bad for him, he played all last year then gets hurt at the end and it carries over. I’d think someone who has the salary to match and already has a 1-2 pinch would for sure take the chance on him. Houston?

Now I’m not suggesting this, nor would I necessarily do it but if the Pels called and offered Zion for Deebo, Kev, Carter and a pick what do you think Monte would do? Not necessarily what you would do, would McNair swing big? I dunno.

I would hope not. That's 3 serviceable players (one we haven't even seen yet plus a future pick of unknown value but let's just say its a cost controlled player of Lyles value) for a guy who averages 46 games per season and who is currently out. Even if he played all 82 games I think that leaves some big holes in the depth department.

got done watching the Mavs vs Warriors game, lots of points, NBA record for three pointers combined in terms of makes, yet I still found the game rather boring and would much rather watch a game where Jalen Suggs is hounding offensive players or Ant Edwards is diversifying his game and then playing defense on the other end to boot. It's been discussed above and often many times before, three point shot is here and as long as you have a team like the Celtics winning a championship or multiple ones doing just that, team execs are going to be trend followers instead of trend setters which will = losing product

Zion is a top 12 player when he’s playing if you can get him without dealing Fox you do it. You win championships with star players there’s no other way around it I’d easily send NO Keegan, DD, Ellis, Carter and picks

I remain unconvinced he will be there for us in the playoffs. I am not debating he's a great player but he has done nothing to show he can play a full season with any consistency. Also not sure he's an ideal fit with Fox and Sabonis but I understand you make it work. My contention is he will miss half the games.
