See, I thought that was a perfect half for the Kings. Yeah the Spurs made a bit of a run in the second quarter (how is anyone supposed to defend that Wembanyama 3pt jumper?) but in the end the Kings are up 7 because of their massive advantage in paint points. The Spurs shooting 13 for 27 from 3pt range and still losing that half by 7 points is exactly what I want to see and it's why I don't think the 3PM gap is a valid excuse after Kings losses. We have the shot makers and defenders to win consistently with this style of basketball.

It should of been done a long long time ago.
I still think it's something to watch. In the end, Monk was always getting the bulk of those minutes anyway. So far Monk has 1 assist and 6 shots. That's on pace for what the SG spot gets with this version of the Kings. Brown started to run a little more Monk/Domas 2 man game but there should be more.

The issue is the others they are leaving open. Not Wembenyama.

That said, they won the half,....but if they want to make a run to the playoffs, then can't continue to leave shooters open for no good reason

Insanity man. We can't just keep saying "An outlier shooting night from the other team!" when it happens every single game. We're thoroughly outplaying them, but because we refuse to defend the 3pt line, this is still a game rather than a 20 point lead.

At some point Brown needs to hold a presser to explain his 3 point defense. On one of those makes he called a timeout and was pretty angry. What exactly was the mistake there? Or was he just mad the guy made the shot?

As long as the Kings outscore their opponent every half, I don't care about how many open 3pt jumpers they give up. The Spurs are absolutely ON FIRE from outside and still losing because they can't stop our dribble drive game or keep Domas off the boards. As Kings fans we spent decades on the flip side of that scenario and I like the view better from this side.

We have the lead! What else matters? We are defending them in the paint and it's working.

That's fair for this game. It's not a good outlook for a run to the playoffs, against better teams

Because it's not good long-term process to lead to wins. Allowing 48% from 3 has to have an astronomically low winning %.

And the fact is we ARE dominating them in basically every other facet. This should be a 20 point game, not a 7 point game. It allows teams playing worse than us stay in the game and sneak wins they shouldn't.

You're gonna die on this hill. ;)

If they don't improve their 3 pt defense, they are not making the playoffs. Bet on it
I'm not going to cave on this "all that matters is 3pt shooting" philosophy. All that matters is outscoring your opponent. I have never cared how an offense scores their points, just that my team has more of them than whoever we're playing by the final whistle.
