Hall of Famer
Like WHY is Keegan tagging Gobert there. He's ****ing LATE challenging that corner 3.

I'd say it's a miscue from Keegan, but this crap just happens all ****ing game. Loucks needs to go, this scheme is trash.
Hasn’t scrambling and over helping been the scheme the entire Mike Brown era?

It doesn’t even matter if a shooter is a good shooter or a driver/penetration is worth helping on. Kings will run 2-3 guys at any action. I don’t remember Jordie’s scheme being any different.

The only reason it’s notable so far this season is the shocking disappointment that it wasn’t addressed, let alone fixed, over the offseason.

-Someone's got to step up and help Fox here. Although him getting stripped like that every game is a bit annoying.

Fox 3-4 from 3. Rest of the team 3-13. Not good enough with no DDR and Monk.

-Someone lock Loucks in the locker room and abandon this defensive scheme. It sucks.

-Lyles "de facto" starter minutes, thought he played well. Not sure why we screwed around with the Len starting, just put us behind the 8-ball for no reason. And we didn't go back to it, so pretty clear Brown doesn't believe in that grouping. So why do it in the first place?
The issue with Lyles is the Wolves are determined to trap Fox on the Lyles/Fox pick and rolls. Lyles might want to start looking to slip some of those if for nothing other than to make the Wolves think the Kings can actually get another shot out of that pick and pop situation.

It wasn't. The only schemes that we've seen be different were at the end of last season when Keon came in, and the summer leagues coached by BoJax and Doug Christie.

Honestly, I think it's Huerter's fault. He let it slip that the "gameplan" is to shut down the rim and be fine with 3pt shooters. So it's not incompetence from our players not being capable, it's our PLAN going into a game. I think we sort of brushed it off the past 2 years because we sort of just accepted we didn't have a lot of defensive talent. But now that we know we're willingly give up these shots... makes it that much worse.

As well as he played in the last game, we are not getting much from Huerter tonight. Ellis and Lyles are the only guys with a positive +/- in the first half.
He's getting McDaniels which is about as horrible a match-up for Huerter as there is. Still, 4 assists, 0 TO's in that half.

But yeah, him and Keegan are the two guys who HAVE to really pick up the slack from no DDR and Monk. 6 points on 3-9 shooting doesn't cut it.

It will still suck but on paper Carter is going to raise Browns defense a bit. Didn't he have like the most blocked jumpers and deflections in college? Or at least he was really high. It'd be a waste of a Ron Artest strength and hands level menace defensively if they only use him off the ball though.

Man, this is again pretty close to playoff ball. Right now, from the looks of it adding DeMar might not be as much of a take you to contention move as much as is it is save your franchise from sliding even more. This team just doesn't have the iso talents offensively. It didn't already and the league has only gotten deeper in talent. Watching everyone other than Fox go iso ranges from hit or miss to why bother.
