Another one of those "uphill all night" games. I like that the Kings have made a number of stops late in the first quarter.

Great putback slam by "Keegan Murray!"

it's why I asked in the last game thread whether his father had a post game, he is what he is at this point in his career and a post player with a hook is not one, he is way too stiff in his movements and there is no fluidity
His father was one of the most well rounded offensive talents ever to play. Hook shots a plenty. Bill Walton said 7'3" Bird and skill wise he wasn't too far off. Domas hit a hook shot a play or two after, he has one. He just really likes to get into the basket area and go off the backboard.

Would have been an excellent Keon/Lyles rotation if Randle doesn't drill a contested fadeaway 3 at the buzzer....
The only problem is the Wolves are giving Lyles the quick hitter 3 as the main option off of Fox and is that a gamble that will win you a game? That's the question.

and with that mindset, he gives defenses opportunity to swarm him or just swat the ball back to him

Sure doesn’t take a lot to get a wide open three against the Kings

Contrast that with how hard the Kings need to work to get a good look vs Minny

Keegan literally could not contest that Naz 3 any closer and still drills it. Like why does every team just do that vs us?
Threes fall against us, and everybody knows it. Is it all psychological? Maybe. But here are Minny's 3PT%ages for their last three games: .179, .371, .289. They'll hit over .500 against us, for sure.

The Minnesota TWolves may play the most aesthetically disgusting style of basketball I’ve ever seen.
They use their quickness well at least. They have a lot of skill and speed off the dribble and they are pulling the Kings all over the floor and just dishing right back out. I wouldn't mind seeing more straight up zone from the Kings to cut off the drives and see where it goes.

What he should do is commit to switching and ball hawk defense. It's all this team has ever done well. Once a player is beat then you slide over.
what about applying full court pressure for the majority of the game, and I don't mean those which are just kind of strolling along with the ball handler but being active with the hands and feet

What would you do here as the head coach?
I'd stop helping off of the corner 3 for starters. Our closeouts are late every single time because that defender hedges into the paint. I'd be overly aggressive at staying tight on shooters. You just simply can't let these 50%+ 3P% vs us keep happening.

Offensively, just keep pulling the open looks. You have to trust they're going to fall eventually and our whole offensive concept is built around Fox/Domas/DDR getting to the rim, collapsing defensive attention and finding the open shooters on the outside.

What the F was Kevin doing there? The Kings ran great switch on the ball the play before and he's sitting on someone elses man that play leaving the corner LITERALLY wide open.
