NFL 2024-2025 Thread

Id be willing to make a pretty sizeable bet that the 49ers will not pay Purdy anything over $52 million a year. He's good, but he's not worth anywhere near $60 million a year.

who can stop the chiefs? The bills? Maybe? I’m to the point now that all I can do is marvel how that team is never out of a game. Mahomes will eventually go down as the best QB to ever play, especially if they 3 peat

49ers messed up not going after Nate Wiggins CB in the 1st round draft- its showing in their terrible zone secondary that got abused today. You could see flashes of the same problems vs the Jets, but the 49ers offense played much better in week 1, and the defense mostly closed down the problems.

Purdy had a bad game today anyway holding the ball too long and making about a half a dozen risky throws, 1 of which cost the 49ers a terrible interception and going down 13 pts . Game was pretty close to last year vs Vikings, maybe not quite as bad, but bad enough. Deebo started things off with some terrible plays in the first quarter. 49ers are missing Greenlaw alot with his excellent tacking and run defense. Of course McCaffrey out is also a big loss, but thats the NFL.

The lack of speed in the secondary is glaring though. Winning more than 10 or 11 games seems unlikely. Mason at least has done solid job.

I am so sick of the refs giving KC the game. They gave KC two 4th downs in the AFC champ game against Bengals, and today they call a penalty before the play even though the play happened to give them another chance and then called a freaking PI on the Bengals and gave KC the win.. So sick of KC and so sick of the refs giving them the benefit of the doubt.. I seriously hope KC goes down this year.

Ryan Poles inability to fix the OLine for 3 years is going to ruin Caleb Williams….matter of time before he gets hurt
Even more than the fact they couldn’t block anyone to save their life all game, the fact that the entire right side of their O-Line kept forgetting the snap count the entire damn game was damning of their coaching.

Stop. That was definitely pass interference, and that is called almost all the time, regardless of the team. The defender clearly got there about a good second too early and even the replay showed that it was an obvious PI. The refs didn't "give" KC the game as much as the Bengals gave KC the game by not being able to be disciplined enough on defense.

And I don't know quite specifically which play you are referring to right before the part I've placed in bold text, but if it was the one I think you're referring to, then that, as well, was absolutely a penalty, and will be called almost all the time.

I am such a casual "fan" of the NFL that I didn't realize there was a big thing about KC always getting a break on calls. I saw a clip of that play with a complaint about pass interference and initially thought "how did they not call PI on that?!?" not realizing that it WAS called and the complaint was that it shouldn't have been.

I have no dog in this fight. That was 100% textbook indisputable pass interference.

Deebo out for a couple weeks with a calf injury.

Not really surprising.

Kittle, it's your turn to get injured now. Usually you guys go down in pairs.
