Mike Brown has brought plenty of success to Sacramento since he became Kings coach, snapping the team's 16-season NBA playoff drought and providing a sense of stability for the franchise. Brown's four-year contract he signed ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season includes a mutual option for the fourth season, The Athletic's Sam Amick and Anthony Slater reported Monday, citing league sources, putting the Kings coach in extension territory.

The Sacramento Kings bolstered one of the top offenses in league history during their 48-win 2022-23 season but were noted as one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA. This season, the Kings took a step back on offense, but took a significant stride forward on the defensive end, going from 28th to 14th-best defensive rating in the league. The Kings can thank many people for this improvement, but the league recognized Sacramento's star duo for their defense. As the 2023-24 NBA All-Defensive Teams released on Tuesday, the complete voting results were unveiled as well.

The Sacrmaneto Kings' offseason is about to get real with the 2024 NBA Draft approaching alongside free agency. After missing the playoffs due to a loss against the New Orleans Pelicans in the play-in tournament, Bleacher Report has the Kings eyeing one of their star players in a new mock trade. Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey sees the Kings potentially landing 2016 second overall pick Brandon Ingram in a blockbuster trade idea.

But why do the Pellies do this? They are so deep that Huerter and Barnes are basically depth pieces/salary matching for them, and the 2027 FRP is several years away. If they trade Ingram they are probably sliding Trey Murphy into his starting spot, not Huerter. And Barnes is probably battling Naji Marshall for backup forward minutes behind Zion and Herb Jones. So why are they trading Ingram for two guys who are making $35M and coming off their bench?

Summertime for the Sacramento Kings has taken yet another turn after wing Sasha Vezenkov reportedly requested a trade according to Mihalis Stefanou of eurohoops.net. Vezenkov, 28, is a former EuroLeague MVP who joined the Kings last summer after signing a three-year, $20 million contract. For a player who was meant to bring some depth to the roster, Vezenkov has now decided that he wants out of California's capital in search of a better opportunity. The Bulgarian international is rumored to be exploring his options across the NBA and is looking into a possible return to Europe.
