Not really a good performance. Feel it should be a much larger lead considering Hawks shot 24 percent.

It’s an HB episode. Not much exciting happening anywhere else. Fox and Domas combined for 6 points. The bench played well. Davion and Javale some nice minutes. Monk 6 assists

That’s the nature of fifth options. Go check DFS recent game log. Lots of 0s and 3s there.
Yeah, but DFS is a totally different archetype than HB. If DFS doesn't take a shot, he's still impacting the game. The sole reason HB is on the floor is because of his shooting and scoring.

HB taking 3 shots isn't "not running plays for him and getting frozen out". It's him not demanding the ball enough and impacting the game the best way he can.

Obviously, I'm not expecting 7/12 for 19 points in a half, every game, but he has to be "selfish" enough to know why the hell he's on the floor. He's had several possessions here in the 2nd quarter where he just bullied his way to the rim for a shot attempt. Go do that, get to the FT line.

Also, also, this half might be another GREAT reason to move him to the bench unit, where he can be a lead option with Monk. Split up his USG with the starters, etc and give him the same freedom that Monk has to just pull without hesitation.

Kings are up but man, those free throws should have been a little more even than that too.

Suns will make another big turnover in the 4th ...
were down by 23 ... looks like their magical number is 22/23...
The good news / bad news with that Phoenix big three in a nutshell... No lead is safe against them, even in half a quarter. But why are they getting into these huge holes in the first place?

either they are showcasing him or Mike decided to get back to what worked last year and that is getting HB to take more shots particularly ones that will draw fouls. The lack of getting to the line is basically the difference from this year in compared to last.

The heck it ain't. Why not? You're gonna get worse results? He's gonna say no?
HB isn't some rookie kid that needs to be spoon fed how to play. Dude knows how to play and he has the good-will built up with this team and Brown that he'll have a leash to go be aggressive if he wants to. We pass the ball more than anyone in the NBA (or at least we did, not sure if that still holds up), with 2 of the more unselfish stars in basketball. If there ever was a team for a role player to have the room to be selfish and stay involved in the offense, it's this one. Hell, that's how we had 7 30 point scorers last year.

Again, that's what makes this game frustrating. It's not like we're just running sets for him out there. He's getting the ball and going and making things happen. Hitting his C&S shots. Actually going and being physical by collapsing the paint for rim attacks. If he's still capable of this. WHY THE HELL DOES HE EVER END A GAME WITH 3 POINTS????

Monte just got turned down on his two main targets with this package of guys on the line. Lets do the math, haha. It could also be, hey, I can't trade them, work them in and make it work. Who knows. Considering it's just around deadline flash sale time though, yeah....

Yes, HB has the latitude to do much more of this w/this team. Not the point. We all agree he's WAAAAY too damn passive much of the time. That's a given. The question is, given that, SHOULD the team spoon-feed him to try to get him going? Yes. Of course it should. Why have we heard Brown say repeatedly that they never run a play for HB? They shouldn't have to, but given how often he's been a big ZERO out there they damn well should. Again, what's the downside?
