Well, Dallas definitely did look like they were on a back to back in the second half…but even in the first, Dallas wasn’t as impressive as I was expecting.

I was especially expecting more from Williams and Lively. Grant Williams might have Carl Landry syndrome. An impactful reserve who you expect to reach another level in starter minutes…but, really more of the same. Lively looked soft. Almost Willie-Esque.

They will be a playoff team though.

Now to the good guys

Kings got the balance they needed. The San Antonio game wasn’t going to do it.

Domas was amazing. 32 points on 15 shots. Destroyed all they thew at him. Just an excellent stretch for him on this streak. He likes the athletic centers that seem to get high marks defensively. He muscles and finesses them to death. He’s even eaten against guys like Lopez and Gobert.

Oddly, Guys of similar size and athleticism seem to matchup better with Domas. especially if they get away with hacking(!!) like a certain someone.

Another star performance from Fox. If the three ball is here to stay the Kings may become one of the elite this season. He still isn’t getting any love from the refs though…wait until that comes.

Duarte was excellent on both ends. Defensively, rebounding, hitting threes, and made some nice plays off penetration as well.

Keegan put together a strong offensive game. We need double figures whether the three ball is dropping or not. He’s a plus player regardless this season so the leap has been quite significant.

HB was ok. Was bricking threes but he kind of got the Kings in the rhythm in the second quarter and then put the game on ice.

Monk hit some daggers. Low key game play making wise but he knocked the wind out of the Mavs last gasp.

Javale was really solid in the second half. Tried to do too much in the first but settled down.

Sasha got all his points in garbage time but Dallas was respecting his threat and his kick out to Keegan to end the third was beautiful. I still want him to play more minutes.

Keon solid. Hopefully he doesn’t miss any time.

Davion struggled offensively again but I did see him come right in and D up Kyrie when the game was still in reach. He might get minutes tomorrow since even if it’s nothing serious for Keon, they might sit him anyway. Though if I’m Keon, I’m refusing to sit if I can walk since maybe one good Davion performance puts him back. We’ll see

Kings have already clinched what I would say is an “OK” road trip considering the level of competition. 4-2 was my mark for good. Time to get greedy. Not sure what to expect from the Pelicans.

You obviously don't make sweeping changes right now when we're playing this well, but I do wonder if Sasha or Lyles in the starting 5 and HB as the "co-6th man" would be an overall positive role change for the team.

I think Sasha needs Domas to be 100% optimized and work off him in the DHO and his off-ball game. He gets stuck as a "spacer" with the 2nd unit because it's more or less just Fox/Monk attack the rim or throwing a lob to the big. Maybe you could really develop Sasha as a "Kyle Korver" lite type of off-ball player. As we saw tonight, aggressive HB is good HB and he'd have far more USG to play with in that 2nd unit grouping. I also just think his legs probably can't hold up to a big work load anymore, based on his displays of athleticism this season. Give me 25 quality/aggressive/rested HB minutes with a bigger USG workload off the bench.

Fox
Huerter
Keegs
Sasha
Domas

Keon
Monk
Duarte
HB
Lyles/Big

Something to think about.
Been saying this since I saw Sashas game. HB is only getting older, at this point a bench role would be perfect for him.

I'm seeing an entirely different level from this team this year. Fox is taking his game from very good to outstanding. He's doing all the things that coaches want from a great player. Sabonis is being more aggressive on the offensive end. Murray is better with his defense (I'd really like to know what his opponent's shooting percentage is when he's defending them - 30%? 25%? If he keeps this up, you can put him on the All Defense team. The bench has been great. Even HB, who has his off moments has come up with some timely steals of late. As a basketball fan, I'm pretty darned critical, but this some impressive stuff.

This game might give Mike Brown something to think about starting Duarte over Huerter (which I recommended before the season start). His defense and hustling is tremendous. Would the Kings be better with Huerter as defender? I doubt it. But since there is no drop off in scoring per 1st quarter...Huerter's offense may not have matter and the defense prove crucial in stopping Dallas' offense prowess.

This is a great win for the Kings against a quality team. But once again, I am not impressed with Barnes defense. He's just undersized and lack any resistant is a problem. Sure, he made a great steal at the end and made a huge 3 but it was after many missed attempts.

Barnes + Mitchell for Lavine, let's go!!!

Holy crap that HB steal felt like Kawhi vs. McLemore lol
That's about the only one or two things he did great tonight lol (the other being making a crucial 3 after many missed attempts). He sucks at guarding one on one...no resistant as usual....taking terrible angle as a defender. Overall, I am not impressed.

Hell no. If twelve games has been enough to convince you that Duarte has earned the starting job over Huerter, then you trade Huerter while he still has value. You don't demote a career starter to the bench while he's still contributing to wins, especially when it appears as though he had played himself out of a slump.

Nice win, but the Mavericks 'tripped and fell' shooting a total brickhouse late in the 3rd in the 4th. The Kings may have still win even if Dallas shoots better, but it would've been closer. Close game for 3 quarters. Sometimes it happens - nice job Kings taking care of a win. Duarte playing well too - encouraging.

The Mavs were held in the first half of the game by the officials. Can only bail them out for so long.

To be honest, all of the wins on this streak have been impressive other than the Portland game. I could make a case that both OKC and Cleveland are better than Dallas. The road win against the Lakers was pure domination minus a let down in the 4th that gave them some false hope. As most of us here realize now, this team is good. Really good. And we will only get better with a healthy Trey Lyles.
Yeah Lyles will provide additional front line depth - needed. Team can play then 12 players legitimately. Brown is very keen to do that too - next man up.

Im trying to think what our players would do if they went to a club in Nawleans

Fox- Dance, head home early for video games
Sabonis-post game nap
Keegan-order chicken and rice from Halal guys
Barnes- check in on his investment portfolio
Kvon- say he can't dance tonight because of the injured finger
Monk- actually dance
Sasha- espresso and cigarettes
Duarte- dance for sure
Davion- wear his game jersey and dribble in the corner
