Fox, Domas, and Red Velvet were great tonight on O.
As I’ve stated many times, when Velvet shoots and plays like this the KINGS are tough to beat.

We all want to see him keep this up — and clearly he is capable of doing so based upon the first couple months last season — but I especially want to see this type of performance in 13 days against the Warriors. They’ve been getting off far too easy.

The dude has played for 21 seasons. Why so many act so shocked when somebody that plays that long starts setting or breaking records escapes me.
Because it's not the breaking records part that's why people are shocked; it's the still being really, really, really good at basketball part. Chief was washed in Year 20. Cap was washed in Year 20. Dirk was washed in Year 20. Kobe wasn't completely washed, but he was a shell of himself in Year 20. Duncan, who didn't make it to 20 years in the NBA but played until he was 39, was washed at 39.

LeBron James is still the best player on a team that went into last night's game with a winning record; that's never happened. That's the reason why people are shocked; the records are just the clickbait headline.

Barnes literally lets Hachimura drive by him for a dunk. That's inexcusable. This is not a pick n roll crap...this is one on one. This shows how weak Barnes defense is. If you allow someone like Hachimura to drive by you...how are you even going to guard elite players? That's why he didn't put up a fight against LeBron...it's too easy.

for me the bigger deal has been Keegan’s wing defense. It has been significantly better than I anticipated. He has been able to move his feet laterally and guard smaller players with much more agility than I have seen before.

that has allowed Barnes to slide over and guard the slower players. I still wish we had signed Cam Reddish instead of Sasha but Keegan’s defense has made the wing much less of a defensive black hole.

This is the kind of defense I was talking about earlier this month: fast hands and fast feet, rather than trying to manhandle the other team or constantly crash through screens. Also boxing out. The Kings and Lakers were about even in total rebounds, despite a combined 19 for Anthony Davis and LeBron James. But the Kings had 50 rebounds versus 36 for Portland, and 52 versus 38 for Oklahoma City.

What a satisfying win this was and is. You can feel how special this team is and how that Fox injury really may have been a blessing in disguise. I didn’t think we’d realize it this fast, but, WOW! Keegan’s defensive leap on its own, is enough to make us better suited for post season action.

HB is getting a lot of hate, but he had the toughest assignment on the floor: LeBron. AD is a close 1st, but he was hobbled for this game. No one else on the team can consistently check LeBron. Keegan has been great defensively, but he doesn’t have the strength against LeBron. Duarte has the strength, but he’s a foul machine.

All things considered, I thought he played fine. He hit his open shots and got some key steals for us at the end.

However, I think it’s clear that HB is on the decline. Maybe that’ll temper some expectations.

He's definitely on the decline but we don't really have a better option right now. He's kind of in the Jason Thompson spot at the moment.

Hopefully he's just having a rough patch and the last 9 games aren't his norm going forward. He came out guns blazing in that first game and dominated with 33pts and then promptly looked completely different in every game after that and has only averaged 9ppg since. He's also only averaging 3.4reb per36. I know rebounds are a bit scarce with Sabonis out there but there's more opportunities than that.

Agreed on Duarte. Small sample size to begin the year but he's been a bricklayer since his sophomore season began and can't stop fouling these days.
