They didn’t really want to resign Barnes. He does have upside but, it seems like after that opening game he feels like he’s done his part. It’s weird cause when he wants it he really has that high percentage iso game that we need during the 2nd or 3rd quarter lull. Is it fear with HB? When he tries he’s great, he really is a mystery to me.
He needs to come off the bench and he'd be outstanding I think

They resigned him to an extension (not even a free agent contract) before the free agent period even started. They didn't want to do that?

Might be time to transfer him over to the GS Iggy role. 25ish MPG, keep him fresh off the bench where he can be a feature offensive weapon and lead the second unit with Monk. But it's damn hard to say we should keep Keon or Kessler defense off the floor in crunch time after watching HB just get cooked by Jerami Grant over and over and over again.

One early-season advantage for the Kings: a lot of teams in the NBA have already played ten games. This will be the ninth for Sacramento. A win would really give them a leg up when the schedule intensifies.

I kind of feel like they tried for a few upgrades and couldn’t make a deal. I could be wrong about that, I’m not in the FO or anything.
In principle, they're not supposed to be able to have contact with agents/players from other teams until free agency opens. That may not be true, of course, particularly as we've seen contracts announced within minutes of free agency opening.

The Kings' scouting report clearly thought that Jarrett Allen cannot guard Sabonis, at 6' 9". They are punishing him inside.
