Chris Duarte to Kings

I mentioned this in another thread, but it wouldn't surprise me if McNair ran the possible trade past Sabonis who advocated for Duarte.
Honestly seems pretty likely. Duarte was bad bad last year, so while he maybe he was a favorite of Monte's from that class and a buy-low opportunity, I'm sure he tagged Domas on what he thought about their time together.

In this TV interview in Puerto Rico (spanish) he talked about his draft process and told the anecdote that when he came to Sacramento for his pre-draft workout they told him that they were interested in him and he was 3rd in their list after Suggs and Davion. He thought that he was going to be a King because draft experts said those days Golden State was interested in Davion at #7. So a Monte's guy cheaper who showed to have a great chemistry with one of our stars?

very good post thx for this tidbit

This trade is starting to make a lot more sense > his relationship with Domas. Really like this guy's attitude.

He's young, and was a starter as a rookie, and second team all-rookie. Injury year last year, this one will definitely be a bounce back year. Gut says he's going to be one of the "surprises" this year. Monte's cooking.

Very cool. Eager to see how he fits here.

I just hope he gets a ton of steals for us. Fastbreak starter.

I swear it is as simple as that. If he gets a bunch of steals for us, this trade could never fail.

As someone who's always enjoyed watching De'Aaron pickup fullcourt n press, n really lock in defensively.. our FO has done nothing short of a marvelous job filling in other guards who can help amplify that, n its obviously a matter of high priority (as it should be)... Davion Mitchell, Keon Ellis, and Duarte all are in that vein, Colby Jones pretty good too, Monk too tbh, but he's also kinda the guard we'd want doing the cherry-picking in these scenarios.

Know I'm late here but two second round picks seems like good value to me. Not sure where all the minutes come from. Imagine we will see a fair amount of 3 guard lineups. At least they won't be 3 guard lineups with Buddy and Bogi on the wings.

Jones has a shot. He has the kind of team / glue type of game that can probably elevate being around better talent and not whatever it is in Summer League. He’s my number 1 watch going into camp.
Who are you and what have you done with SLAB?

I ran an AI analysis on this post and the results indicate there is too much optimism to be SLAB. I'll be submitting a missing persons report.
