Looks like somone on one of the cap space teams could be getting Valanciunas for nothing perhaps! Totally down with putting the national team bruiser duo of JV/Domas together in NBA form.

Oh so 4/53 is the max NOP can offer, but any other team can blast 25mil/season for him?

I'm not doing that, but man, I'd be pretty damn tempted at like 18-20mil/season and force NOP to blink. Herb is a special defensive player, going to live on All-defensive teams is whole career and like 1 of 15ish guys I could actually buy winning a DPOY at some point. And his offense/shooting passes the KCP mark where you can live him on the floor and he doesn't crush you.

Give me Herb over basically everyone in this class I think

I’d be very tempted to throw a 4/$60-72M offer at him. I agree he’s the best of the 2nd wave free agent options and I’d take him over Kuzma.

Only thing is the offer sheet holds everything else up as they have 48 hours to match I think

apparently the Portland people in my twitter feed are going nuts about this.

When you are concerned about giving up a player like this and think you are one trade away from contention you have reached a new plane of delusion.
Portland fans: “Stop focusing on rebuilding the roster with young players and build around Dame!”

Also Portland fans: “Why are we getting rid of our young rebuilding player to open up roster space for a vet???”
