Pete doing his part to pump up Cissoko's value.

Very easy to see why the Wizards needed a full rebuild when last year's top 10 pick is third string on this terrible roster, the top 10 pick from 3 years ago is second string, the top 10 pick the year before that was traded to the Lakers this season for 2nd round picks.

As Kings fans we all know how poor drafting keeps a team bad, but the Wizards haven't extended a rookie they drafted since Otto Porter. Wow.

I do love me some Mikal, but man... If Scoot were there? You better damn well hope Mikal just develops into a full-fledged wing all-star next season.
If there's anything this offseason has proven so far it's that GMs will try to fleece other teams up to the point that they have absolutely no leverage and wind up having to dump guys for pennies on the dollar.

It's a bit weird that this is being touted solely as a "win now" move, when I think it's pretty clear the secondary goal was moving off Poole's contract.

It won't look nearly as bad when he's leading that terrible Washington team in scoring on low efficiency numbers, but it could have become an albatross for the Warriors as long as he was coming off the bench behind Steph and Klay.

You miss the wisdom of Washington making sure that they've got a tank commander for the 24 25 draft

Man, the Raptors really getting stuck in no man's land. Might as well make an offer for Scottie Barnes.
And that's a message you would expect from frustrated GM's that think Masai needs to start involving some sense of realism to his proposals, lol. Yeah, Siakam is flat out just not going to sign with a team that trades for him. haha. yeah right. If you trade for him he'll just hop right back onto the Raps for the MLE.

It seems that Washington has a new GM who is solely looking to lose and enter a process. A little peculiar they haven't gotten more picks in their moves, but they are front runner for worst record in the league for 2-3 years right now.

hey maybe he really likes Toronto and this is his version of a no trade clause

Why trade for picks when you can come by them honestly?

I think it just shows how truly bad their situation was.

Beal worst contract in the league
KP could have just opted out and they get nothing
0% chance CP3 ever played a minute for them
Kuzma a UFA.

Buying the absolute floor of Poole, Getting Tyus, getting a pile of second round picks, a bunch of PHX pick swaps and still a bunch of tradeable pieces to continue to ship off. And you didn't have to give any of your own picks or future value. Pretty gaudy GM'ing if you ask me, I think they've done excellent so far. They just need to keep going and just fully let Davis, their pick this year, Deni and Gafford run the show this season.

I want to see them re-sign Kuz and see what a Poole/Kuz combo looks like, haha. That has the chance to be the biggest boom/bust combo in the league. Many games it'll be a disaster, but for a few games it will be pretty spectacular.

Hopefully not, because Kuz is coming here!

But man, I think you roll with:

Poole
Davis
Kispert
Deni
Gafford
Pick 8, 35,42

And just see what can develop from that. Go actively try and trade Monte, Tyus, Delon Wright and really just bottom this thing out. Keep the cap sheet as clean as you can, buy bad contracts for assets.

If Poole is able to regain pre-Draymond-Punch form and they don't blow their pick tonight, that's probably actually got a chance to be a borderline play-in team. Deni and Gafford are solid defensive guys to have behind Poole and Tyus and Delon Wright is still on their bench as one of the better defenders in the league. If they get Taylor Hendricks or Jarice Walker, that's probably a pretty strong defensive squad with just enough offensive iso scoring to not get blown out most nights. Absolutely wouldn't recommend that they go down this route but the Wizards still aren't as terrible as they should be once the season actually starts.

Man, I want to believe in Johnny Davis because he was one of my favorites for us last season when I thought we were drafting in the 8-11 range but the dude has pretty much not looked anything like a G-League player, let alone an NBA player since the moment he stepped onto the floor for summer league.

This should be the perfect situation for him to figure out if there's an NBA player inside him or not though.

Yeah I was super high on Davis last year too. Think I had him 5th or 6th on my big board, but something just "unclicked" the second he turned pro. But regardless, if he's bad, that's still a good thing because it really helps them bottom out. If he turns it around, they'll have found lost value by giving him every chance to play.

On the flip side, Poole may lead the league in shot attempts next season, so there might not be any room for other guys to develop.
