Lets just chalk this one up as a fluke loss. It happens to every team. We're fortunate that it only happened to the Kings 2-3 times this season. The game vs the Pelicans and this game. Sixers possibly but they have some really good bench players and are a winning team. Can't win them all sometimes.

Lady reporter who asked if 4th quarter defense being turned up was by design (No, per Brown) should get a gold star for asking something smarter than most everyone else in the room. I often wonder. He'd never admit it even if it was. I do feel like pace factors into it and the game slowing down as the game goes on explains some of this. But still.

Also the same phenomenon is why I like our playoff odds, this team has played game 2 of these little mini-series extremely well all season. Have we lost a single game 2 in those instances? I don't think so.
I think that might've been Sara Hodges from CBS Sacramento...

Hall of Famer
(talking about McDermott)

Kenny: He's gonna be a good player

Kyle: Ahh... he's 31

Kenny: Yeah but what I'm saying is he's going to be a good player going forward.

Look, we all know Kenny wasn't hired for his eloquence.
Kenny admitted during a broadcast earlier in the season that he hadn’t been following the Kings and the NBA in the years since he left the league to when he took the post game job.

So he probably thought McDermott was a second or third year player. However long Kenny has been doing post games.

Bibby was the worst. He flat out said he’s never heard of Trey Lyles and then when they brought Richaun Holmes up to the booth he told Richaun “They’re going to love you here” like Holmes was some new guy and hadn’t already been a former fan favorite who had since worn out his welcome.

I don't understand why De'Aaron Fox only turn it on when it's 4th quarter. It doesn't help the team chances. I don't know if they intentional do this to conserve his energy or what. It makes sense when he turn it on whenever he sense the Kings aren't making shots, struggling or playing behind...he needs to take control and do something. Barnes is like the only player that try to break the momentum of the other team by attacking. Now, I am not blaming Fox totally on this...because it's the coaching too. If you're not running play for FOX or telling him to attack, then who's fault is it? I seen Fox just giving the ball up and let others make play while standing around...who's fault is it? Why did he constantly attack in the 4th in every possession? Obviously, it's the coach that tell him to do it, right? If that's the case, what happened in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter? Like I said before, every time Fox is not attacking or being aggressive whenever he's on the floor....you're basically giving the opponents free lunch. Now, I am not saying to have FOX constantly attacking every single possession...i am saying when things isn't going well for the Kings, for example...not shooting well or in dangerous of trailing behind, he needs to turn it on to break the drought. He's one of the leaders of the team, he need to step it up and not waste time. If you do this in the Playoffs and rely on your teammates to play well while you're watching...you're not really maximize the chances of winning. That's all I got to say...

The great players like Kobe, MJ, DeRozen, Paul George... in the league when they sense their team is in trouble, they want the ball and want to break the other team momentum....I don't see why Fox need to stand around and watch. If you want to take the team to another level...this is what he need to do imo. He can't just be another player out there between the 1st and 3rd quarter.

Kings producers are clearly struggling to find talent.

What's Lawrence Funderburke doing?

Playoffs will be much more dynamic with teams searching/switching for mismatches and hiding weak defenders. Our team's focus needs to be on point all the time and teams will target Huerter on switching. Because of that, the team really needs to step up their communication on D.

Nah, not overall. We've had Kings teams who were 6th and 8th seeds....and non playoff teams, with better home records. By any stretch, this is not a good home record for a 3rd seed
But you also look at league records. There's more parity. 50 wins is sometimes a 5 seed. Many people would have pegged our record as a 5 or 6 seed this year.

Point still stands, we're still a good home team. We're better on the road, by virtue of being great on the road. We're not "bad" at home though. And the net result is that basically the results are more or less that we have an equal chance to win at home or on the road right now.

In the playoffs, I'm taking HCA every single time.

I'm starting to wonder if this historically awful Kings defense (eye test) is the trade off for this historically amazing Kings offense (eye test)? Is this the cost that we have to roll with?

Yes, we have been relying on scoring more points to hide our woeful defense all season.

Many times it is hard to see but that seems to always be the plan going in.

Kings can't be great if Fox only decided to turn it on only in the 4th...and off between 1st and 3rd quarter. The way he play in the 1st through 3rd is like let me chill and shoot a couple 3s....and just pass the ball around. That despite the Kings are behind? C'mon, that's not conducive to winning if one of your leaders decided to only turn it on in the 4th. I hope he change his mentally in the Playoffs or the Kings might be toast.

Another thing about home games is that it seems like teams enjoying playing at Golden 1 Center. They tend to shoot well or shoot the light out...and that's a problem. I remember at Arco, teams have a hard time making shots because of the noises. And Kings don't seem to play well at home as oppose on the road and that's also concerning. I don't ever see team having better road record than home record. It's very rare.

This isn't always the case

I disagree because Sabonis and Fox typically live in the paint
I don't know why, I guess negative traits are easier to latch onto people's minds than positive ones, but our history-setting offense is still not being respected even by our members, even after we won 47 games with our horrendous defense.

GSW's final offense/defense rating was 111.8/97.7, currently, the Kings' regular season O/D rating is 118.8/116. I know Playoffs is a different animal but to write us out now seems premature.

I don't mind it because that means even NBA teams might still underestimate us and allow us to steal one or two from under them.
