Do I think it’s going to happen? Probably wouldn’t bet on it. Is it an absurd take of unreasonable proportions? I don’t think so at all.

Sabonis averaged 6/3/1 in his age 20 season, btw

He's a more natural scorer for sure but also looks like an open door on defense sometimes. He should be able to put up some legit scoring numbers though.

The back end schedule features many teams that are near .500 or better....Kings better figure it out fast. Murray a 3rd consecutive poor outing marks a slump.

Living in Houston, I get to watch him often. He really has Jokic like court vision and some passing finesse similar to Vlade and the daddy Sabonis.

I just think dude needs to get comfortable at all these arenas he's not used to. Maybe next year will be different. He's 50/48/80 at home, 37/33/77 on the road. He's a rookie, just is what it is

I love the limited times I’ve seen him. Makes me so salty because he was the dude I wanted. I’m fine missing players I didn’t have eyes on, but when I’m right… :(

Sabonis was a rookie playing next to Adams and Westbrook being asked to space the floor for some reason.
The Rockets, for all their dysfunction, are playing at a pace that is helping all of their guys put up great counting stats while also not helping their development as players somehow. Essentially they’re us when Keith Smart was our coach.

The difference in usage between Sabonis and Şengün at age 20 is... not insignificant.

Yeah but the concern for me is that lack of self creation because this team is going to need it as evidenced by the games without Fox. To be a face up player at some point you have to be able to be a threat off the dribble and not just swing back out once the defense closes out on you. I'd be interested to see how many non assisted pull up jumpers Keegan has made this year.

Knowing we know how Monte valued a guy like Domas not picking Sengun was a choice. But we don't need to be this upset about Davion not being Fox. I'm ok if we package him in a deal for a better player, but we're just looking for an obvious target here.

Oh for sure, I agree with you. I'm not sure that version will ever arrive, but I do expect him to hit open shots at an average percentage and on the road he's not even doing that

He's also more of an undersized 2 than a point. We can more afford to throw a guy like that out there for defense without having to worry about any offensive responsibilities.
