De'Aaron Fox may or may not be the best player on the team, but (and I hate the use of this expression, but I can't think of a better one off the dome) he seems to be the only guy on the team who "Has That Dawg In Him." He appears to be the only player who has that, "We're not going to lose tonight" mentality.
I'm not really concerned about the third star.
The main thing here is what happens in Fox's absence, exacerbated by having Davion do actual PG duties. As frustrating as Monk can be at times, he's the only other guard who can put leverage on opposing defenses and lead to easy offense for the supporting wings.
We're more screwed if Fox has to miss games than anything. We need a back-up creator if it's not going to be Monk.

I agree we don’t need to make big personnel changes. But our shooting is trending way down, and it’s not simply missing open shots. We’re not getting the volume of open shots we used to get. Teams are defending us differently (part of it is being in the middle of the season and teams know us better), and I’m hopeful Brown can make the right adjustments. Perhaps we can add a key complimentary piece, but scheme-wise we need to add a new wrinkle or 2
