I think it's going to be tough to pull one off in Utah. I thought Brown should play Mitchell to protect the league because Jazz keep exploiting Huerter weak defense in that one stretch. Kings need to be a bit smarter. For example, 4 secs to go before Halftime, Kings' ball full court inbound, why is FOX the one inbounding the ball? He's the quickest guy on the planet, he should be catching and running to get the shot off. It's thing like that that could add up to winning, just saying...
Teams have been targeting Huerter on D and it's not pretty. As long as his offense exceeds his defense it works out but it's a slippery slope

Kings end the calendar year with a winning record for the first time since 2004.
I guess I convinced myself we were in 2018. We locked it in against Denver the other night but 4 games over is pretty big. While going .500 on this 6 game stand wasn't ideal we've got momentum on our side again and after this little road trip we've got an opportunity to do some damage in January.

Road game against a team we just beat by 1 isn't a point in our favor but I do feel like we could have beat this team by 20 if not for some lapses.

On the other hand Lauri was very not good from 3 and still managed to be the game's leading scorer.

That’s just going to happen when Huerter is playing most of his minutes next to Fox (who’s turned himself into a really solid defender this season) and Mitchell. The thing that helps with Huerter is that he’s big enough to play up so the bigger wings and forwards can’t switch hunt like guards can.

Plus Huerter tries on defense and makes a few plus plays a night, which is more than can be said for the guy he replaced (Chavano Hield).

I'd like to see some more "offense/defense" where we can find spot situations for Okpala. There has a to be a way to squeeze some more opportunities for him in spots. I don't even care if he hasn't been on the court in a long while, just have him on notice to check in at any time

.500 not ideal, but I think the Kings keep answering the question of "When will the other shoe drop?" At this point, I don't think it's going to. They had a rough little 4-game stretch with bad losses to WAS/CHA and then blowing that lead vs DEN. But then you come back with a massive win vs DEN where Jokic drops 40 and then beat UTA in a super up-tempo/high scoring shoot-out.

This team still has holes in the rotation, but for the first time in 16 years, I think we can actually say we're a deserving playoff team that has a great shot to be a 5-6 seed if we continue our current rate of play. Not "if everyone lives up to their potential and plays better".

absolutely, there's no smoke and mirrors and there are opportunities for us to improve without resorting to something stupid. Holmes play the last few nights is cause for some hope too, either by getting some quality minutes out of him or it piquing someone else's interest (Charlotte please).

Nail-biter.......neither team played defense particularly well....completely a 50/50 game - Kings had a couple chances to break it open but obliged the Jazz with sloppy play......Kings better 3 pt shooting neutralized by the Jazz parade to the FT line...3 - yes, 3 dumb three-point shot fouls plays resulting in 8 pts. Sabonis should just pull the trigger on the 3 point shot every time left alone - he's very accurate - simple.

When the Kings were on a tear early, they would blow teams out having 7 player in double figures - that offense has fallen off, and they are escaping with wins lately. Monk back to a forgettable game but luckily Huerter stepped up as the 3rd scorer.

WTF is up with Terrance Davis out of the rotation competely?!

I can already tell you no team want's to come into this building come playoff time. Jesus Christ, this is game 34. What's the decibel level in a playoff series?
On the replay on that possession, even though Fox short-armed his shot, he deserves alot of credit for mixing it up with guys who have 8" on him ....his all-out try for the offensive rebound helped keep the ball alive for the winning shot. Had he not done that, the Jazz would've secured the rebound and likely end-of-story

Game 3 1996 vs Sonics the arena was 3/4 an hour before the game most of the people in their seats. You couldn't hear the person next to you from the buzz of people talking.

My wife and I were there.

Never heard a game louder or for a longer period of time. Ever.

Next best was against Utah in 1999 when Todd Fuller went to the FT late in the game. He had no chance.

Honorable mention goes to the Celtics game at SAC in 1986. Larry Bird missed 2 FT’s late because he thought the building was going to collapse from the noise. I wasn’t at ARCO for that one, but I did see it on TV.
