NFL 2022-2023 Season Thread

Also, that 2nd half performance was super-bowl contender team. Just pure domination in all facets and probably as good as we've seen everything click together at the same time this season.

Bye week could not come at a better time. Give CMC 2 weeks to learn the playbook, get everyone healthy and we officially don't have to travel further than Las Vegas the rest of the season. 6 of our last 9 games are at home, including 4 of the next 5. Very likely going to be favored in every single game from here on out.

If true, that was probably ill-advised for a 5th rounder. Wilson is better than that - worth at least a 3rd or maybe a 2nd, or two fifth rounders. I guess Mitchell is on track for recovery in 2 weeks. Still, getting rid of depth - they could've waived the 4th back and kept Wilson at 3rd.
I like Wilson but to get any value out of him is nice. He’s unsigned next year and they drafted two guys just this last draft… with CMC and Eli back, there’s just no room.

We’ll certainly see how ready RB’s 3 & 4 are when either CMC or Eli get banged up in the future.

Getting a 5th for Wilson is just about right. And yeah while Wilson has been great, the 49ers are going to be getting back Mitchell and TDP fairly soon. Good sell high opportunity and we get one of the picks back sent in the CMC deal. Good stuff.

The value is he's proven as a good backup - 3 and 4 now are not.

Given the injury history and the amount Shanahan likes to call runs, I think this is not a good trade taking away some quality depth. Dolphins recognize and picked up a steal at the Niners cost. It's a gamble on health.

And Jeff Wilson could easily get hurt at the same rate as any of CMC/TDP/Mitchell. We don't need him and he's not signed here long-term.

How many running backs are you trying to have on the roster at once? The Niners already had devoted considerable roster space to the position as it was and that's even before Elijah Mitchell and TDP got healthy.
