They should be better regardless. They also have stacked their team with length and athleticism on the wing so they fit. If the Kings want to go somewhere this season they can't rely on schedules, they can rely on other stuff, they can't F around swinging the ball around like they're the globetrotters playing "team" ball or on locking up more modern style teams. Keep it simple then build.
They are going to be lucky to be 3-9 or something over the next stretch but hopefully they can build on it.

I just want to reiterate how valuable this L will be to the team, who have only started getting to know each other over the summer, and who had been going smooth sailing throughout the whole off-season to training camp and preseason.

Some of them probably were like us, thinking this could be an easy win. It's when you just do not focus enough that things slip out of your hands.

The excitement of the crowd, all the talk about how long we haven't won even though more than half of the team barely even know the town yet, and the players themselves absorbing all that anxious energy.

This L will humble them. Take the uneasy feeling away and get back on track. There should really be no easy win in the league.

Oh come on… you got to be tougher than that! Seemed like an awesome atmosphere at the arena. 81 more to go…. Hang in there!
A few more games like this and the atmosphere is going to be peak … pick pretty any home games over the last 16 years.

The Kings? Oh boy. I hope they realize this fanbase and potentially the owner might be on a ledge here. Brown/Monte unfortunately don't have much rope I'd bet. They let the stink of past coaching decisions linger too long.

The Game Thread Dude
The Kings probably win that game when the Blazers went small if Domas had any semblance of a normal game tonight. Dude only had three turnovers but that’s because fumbled passes count as turnovers for the guy who passed the ball to him.

Barnes is too vet to already be worse than Murray. And we all know this is true.

Edit:

Almost all of us.
I’ve been ready to move on from Barnes for seasons at this point. He’d be a good 5th man on an already established good team but he doesn’t do nearly enough as a player to move the needle on a bad team.

Look at the schedule, coming out the first dozen games ~.400 was a best case scenario.

Refs aside, this is very likely as bad as Sabonis will play all season. Not that he wasn't hitting shots, he was incredibly indecisive in the post, leading to a lot of bad decisions. Especially with no Keegan, Kings aren't going to win many games when he's that bad. Honestly pretty impressive we had this game won until the refs just handed it to the Blazers at the end of the game.

Monk, Davion, Lyles combined 5-23 shooting too. Just not going to get it done, although all 3 did have really great moments too.

On to the next. Keegan back, normal Sabonis, we'll get things cooking. There's A LOT to like, just need to clean up the slop.

We need more out of Davion. He is going to be playing a ton of minutes, and he can't be giving us 2 points on 1-8 shooting. Yes, he brings much needed defense and toughness, but precisely because of these reasons (and the fact that he is the primary backup to Fox), he is going to be out there.

Yes, we need more from Monk too, but Monk has been around long enough for us to know that he will have good shooting nights. More importantly, once Keegan comes back, Huerter can take up majority of minutes at 2, with Huerter not having to slide over to 3 that much. So, Monk can see reduced minutes when he is offensively off. Not Davion.
