is there lots to do in Athens?
I was there only for two nights so can’t really say. Spent sometime checking out the Acropolis and the Parthenon as well as a few roof top bars. Back in 2019, Athens seems to be relatively cheap compare to other parts of Europe like London and Paris

London and Paris are way too touristy, did you check out any other parts of France or the UK?

A couple of the Uber drivers we spoke with in Europe said that Greece was indeed one of the vacation destinations frequented by other Europeans just for that reason.

Nice shot. I just got streaky white lights up here. Cool but pretty low on the "wow" scale.
I saw some photos from last night near where I live (the photo above was 40 minutes away from my house in the foothills) that were better than this. But I was out around 10 pm and the other photos were from around 2 am. I'm going to try again tonight around 1 am or so - it is supposed to still be there but maybe not *quite* as strong.

Edit: Dad and I went out for two hours from midnight to 2 am and ... nothing. Apparently if we had gone out earlier (say, 10 am or so) we may have caught something, but nothing like the night before, apparently. I should have switched my night activities and it would have worked! ;)

Ahh I was out from about 10:45 to 11:30. Most of the pic I've seen from around here are just a purple hued sky(go Kings!)

It's a bucket list item for me. I have a friend in Alaska I'm planning to visit once my life is back on track. Maybe a visit down under to see Aurora Australis as well.

Lake Louise in Banff a few days ago. Went from wearing shorts in Sacramento to winter wear there. It’s mid 40’s for most of last week.
One of the most incredible places I've seen in my entire life, along with a few other places in the area. I have the pictures I took on my trip up to Banff last year (over Thanksgiving week) on my phone. I will have to share them at some point. Such an incredible trip, such a beautiful, and magical, environment. Especially in the winter, when there's snow.

I just now realized that I never uploaded pictures from my family trip up to Banff last year over Thanksgiving...Here are a few (I may upload a few more later, once I am able to get them from my phone over to my laptop).

1. Lake Louise (Maybe my absolute favorite picture of the trip that I was able to take on my phone.)

2. Mount Norquay - First time skiing in over 20 years. (If I could've, I would've also snapped a few pictures looking down at the main ski lodge (which is NOT the small building you see behind me) from the top of the ski lift. It was one of the most beautiful things I saw that trip. Also, worth mentioning here is the fact that the lodge itself was incredible. We all had a great time the day we went up there.

Looking down at the lodge, with the mountains right behind it, paired with snow falling down, was absolutely incredible. One of my cousins snapped a few pictures on his phone if I remember correctly. I will have to ask him to send them my way so I can share.)

3. This was taken during one of our drives (I can't quite remember where we were heading, or on which road we were on at the time).

4. You take a gondola to get up here, and there are multiple floors from which you can see outside (almost set up like an observation deck - Think Stratosphere if you all have been to Vegas). The three gentlemen you see in the picture are my brother and two cousins - who all hiked up to the top of the gondola.

5. This picture was snapped from a third-floor bedroom of the house in which we stayed. We were a very large group (almost 30 of us). So we found three houses that were right next to each other. Although we had to split up at night, we still managed to make the most of our time together by spending the days and early evenings together in one house, or wherever our daily adventures took us.

6. Lake Minnewanka (if my memory serves me right, but please don't quote me on this). I was blown away as I looked out over the lake. It was, hands-down, one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen with my own two eyes.

That's all for now! I know there's at least one other picture on my phone that I would like to share, so I will throw that one on here once I am able to get it over to my laptop.

If you've never been up to Banff, I'd HIGHLY recommend adding it to your list of destinations to visit. If you're able to brave the winter conditions (and, yes, it does get pretty darn cold up there), I'd highly recommend taking a trip during the winter months. Well worth the many layers you will require in order to stay warm. I'm glad none of us chickened out and forced the entire group to stay inside because it was so dang cold up there.
